I hope HTC isn't trying to price themselves out of the cellphone biz. They have to keep those prices reasonable else they risk putting off some who might be interested.
I would like to see at least two size screen options...the easier to handle 5.1" screen and a 5.5"-5.7" screen variant. At least there will be something for everyone ( Phablet fans not left behind).

Then you are only partially right. On GPU side, SD 810 has Adreno 430 which is far far better (almost twice) than Adreno 510 in SD 652. But on CPU side, things are not that rosy for SD 810. It (SD 810) has slightly less performance compared to SD 652 AND serious heating issues which is not the case with SD 652. So I would pick up a device with SD 652 anyday over a device with SD 810.

wow that thing better be a rebranded galaxy s7edge with boomsound speaker and moto x pure android bundled with lg camera app and stock android like upgrade cycle and tons of proprietary technologies.they were following apple in design with one a9 now with the price with htc 10

The mobile itself not is not sure but we have the price..... Creating such negative thoughts among the consumers even before the product release itself.... Same happened with htc m9

I really want to know how they justify pricing a 5.1 inch flagship like it is a 5.5-5.7 inch flagship that is expecting allot of interest. It better be good.
I was going to order a 6p while it was $100 off at BH photo and possibly return it depending how things looked with this guy. The sale ended last night and I forgot. The regret...

2.0GHz Cortex-A57 + 1.6 Cortex-A53 + Adreno 430 on 20nm = SD810
A53 < A57 < A72
same as
Scorpion(A8) < Krait(A15) < Kryo(Probably an A72)
Not guessing but it is how they design it.

Well...I was rooting for HTC among the other companies, but with that pricing, they better bring a flawless smartphone. On the other hand, it's just rumors and speculations, so you can't take it seriously until the official announcement, but if those are real or close enough, they'll be shooting themselves in the foot. HTCs position on the market these days is not that strong, so it may end up badly for them. Time will tell.

Numbers in red means either their sales is shit or they are not cost efficient.
In htc case, it simply means they are overpricing their phones, no one is buying them, and most of all, not allocating their cost at a most effective way.
The reason behind this decision (using this mid range chip) is to cut cost. So they will reduce their cost thus in attempt to increase their revenue.
It's no rocket science, it's a common sense and im shocked that you have none.

Lol the s7 costs 700$ here officially and unofficially 600$ and will probably be for less when htc 10 is released. Are they out of their minds? If it wasnt for ui consistency I would get the s7
