Miki, 30 Mar 2016Xiaomi, don't follow that insane Samsung logic. QHD screens... moreI would like to disagree with you due to the below reasons.
1. Technology improves very fast each year, what was considered excellent 2 years back (2014) is no longer considered even good/adequate now (2016).
a. Display technology has progressed adequately enough such that QHD is not such a significant battery drainer anymore
b. SoCs have improved well enough (both on raw power delivered AND power consumption) to provide good performance even with QHD resolution displays
2. There will always be people who don't need the latest and greatest (like QHD displays, UHD video recording etc etc), people like you and me (Btw, I am also a fan of FHD). That does NOT mean that technology should not evolve. Technology will continue to evolve, no matter whether some people need it or not.
3. When an OEM charges top dollar for a FLAGSHIP phone, that FLAGSHIP phone is expected to have latest and greatest technology.
4. People (like you and me) who don't need latest and greatest, should look elsewhere (read mid-range phones) and stop commenting about flagship phones, since we don't need them.
5. Bottomline is - technology has evolved, so should FLAGSHIP phones which cost a fortune.

Anonymous, 30 Mar 2016no exynos didnt beat snapcrap this timewell, actually it beats, atleast in s7, seen speed test and sd had to reload some apps, oppened apps slower, battery life is shorter about 15% or so. It is not a strong fact but still. Maybe newier devices will handle sd better.

Another high speced chinese phone with zero character & poor availability.
Even without seeing it, I'll give this forthcoming device an R&D rating 3 out of 10.
Pessimistic - yes.
I'm just making a point.

Miki, 30 Mar 2016Xiaomi, don't follow that insane Samsung logic. QHD screens... moreas much as I gotta agree with you. FHD is actually good for screens that are five inches and UP! (due to the fact that 4.9 already generates a generous 450 PPI which is unnoticed for human eye while 441 is still quite acceptable in 5 inchers) but yeah. I must agree about QHD screens. Literally an overkill unless streaming to the tv and such.

The galaxy note 5 will probably have a SD 823 as well. I wonder if they have an exynos alternative.
Anyway, its pretty cool to have Xiaomi making more high end phones.

The first version of this phone that came out in early 2015 looked great but 2 strikes against it: modest battery life and high price. Let's see what comes out this year.

Miki, 30 Mar 2016Xiaomi, don't follow that insane Samsung logic. QHD screens... moreAs much as I will agree with you on QHD, I think FHD makes sense for bigger screens (say 5" and above). You will actually see the difference there, which is not the case with FHD and QHD on such a small screen. I also think higher resolution than FHD on mobile devices is an overkill (unless you mirror your phone on a big screen, but who does that?).

Xiaomi, don't follow that insane Samsung logic. QHD screens make no sense at all. No benefits at all, it will only make the device slow, unresponsive and the battery will drain even quicker. HD is enough, FHD is overkill. QHD is just stupid.
Don't be inefficient like Samsung, don't do QHD screens!!!
