One more thing. most of the audiophiles I know does not care of the brand. They read the specs yes. But they would rather try the item (DAP, Amp or Headphones/earphones) first then would decide from there.
They would not care as well if it's made in china, taiwan US etc. FYI a lot of the decent audio brands that I know came from china (Dunu, Fiio, Knowledge Zenith etc). and another thing. most of them are not mainstream brands.

I would not say that I'm an audiophile but I Iove music and I have a decent portable set up (Fiio x1 + Fiio Q1 amp + Shure se425).
Most audiophiles that I know (again, not all). Would prefer a dedicated DAP (Player) than a smartphone as a souce. Why?
1. Smartphones does not have enough power to drive most of their headphones. Some good quality cans have 100+ohms.
2. Smartphones does not have a line out to put an external amp. If they put an amp on a smartphone it could create distortion (Double amping).
This is the main reason why I opted to buy a dedicated DAP. rather than using my smartphone (I own a Note4). The difference can be huge.

Anonymous, 02 Apr 2016That's not a thing, why would an audiophile care about bran... moreI don't think so. Those brands may not be known to you or me, but the audiophiles bought them because they know the brand.
Only nerds looking at specs. Real audiophiles are looking at experience. Specs mean nothing. The ones that are looking at specs are nerds pretending to be audiophiles. Real audiophiles trust their own ears and the experience of the brand to know what's good instead of looking at specs. Audio is listened by ears, not by eyes looking at numbers reading specs.

AnonD-476428, 31 Mar 2016Audiophile-targeted bla bla bla.... Audiophile-targete... moreBro, an audiophile won't use the speakers for music or so, they use their audiophile-targeted headphones for extremely high quality audio. You will never reach an audiohpile audio quality using phone speakers because of their size and some other limitations. Don't embarrass yourself with this kind of comment. As I always say: Read more, think more, hate less.

I'm not audiophile but would rather choose a midrange phone with better DAC and audio chip than fastest but crappy sounding phone. Everyone has a chance to choose what they consider being important. For some it's a camera, for some audio quality, for some looks and etc. Anyway I'm gald to see so many good chinese brands competing with 'big' brands...

Would a real audiophile even know or want a vivo brand? Audiophile market is not about the spec. It's about the brand.
This will be just a marketing gimmick.

Anonymous, 31 Mar 2016If so then it should be headphonephiles because Audiophile ... moreif so, using your smart logic, hearing audio from headphone called headphonepiles, then it means:
hearing from earphone called earphonephile, and
hearing from speaker called speakerphile?
..that means, I'm laptopspeakerphile since I heard audio from laptop internal speaker
that was a genuine smart logic just now!! :D

neontetra, 01 Apr 2016dac as in digital analog convertor?ye thats right.and dac is not the only element too many reasons can affect the sound quality.but when it comes to internal speakers none of those factors come in.because internal speaker just use 20 - 50% of device amp thats all.and in my opinion if companys like htc destroys.people like me whom care about headphone output power will be so disapoints.not so much companys care about detail features they all talk about hi-res audio and shit but thats all in paper.me in personal never found any phone more audiophile like HTC one series.
