Audiophile is a very artificial term, most of such ppl are spoiled, so who cares really? It's almost the same with the phono-graphs if I may call ppl that care for some imaginary quality off mobile phone camera.

RishiGuru, 31 Mar 2016Honey, audiophiles are only interested with the sound quali... moreyeah I know that (all though I'm not considering myself an audiophile sound is one of my main priority's ) but you don't always use headphones all the time for basic things like gaming and watching YT...I cant even stand alarm or ringtone on mono speaker anymore it sounds so dull.....

wake the fu#ck... moreHoney, audiophiles are only interested with the sound quality that emanates from audiophile grade headphones connected to smartphone's 3.5mm audio jacks. Vivo have taken care in the right place as the headphone output is directly connected to a ESS Sabre ES9028 (DAC) + ESS ES9603 (Headphone amp) which bypasses the internal codec.
No audiophiles are interested with in-built speakers be it mono or stereo. Why? Because no smartphone in-built speaker can produce the full audio spectrum a human being can perceive at a reasonable volume. This is due to space constraints. Audiophiles are ultra critical about true sound.
That said the general consensus is X5 Plus & X6S Plus are not as great an audiophile phone compared to its predecessor X5Max. It is mainly because X5Max followed more expensive HiFi 2.0 audio architecture while X6S Plus settled for less expensive HiFi 1.0. The newly to be released XPlay 5 Elite most probably will usurp X5Max with its very expensive HiFi 3.0 audio architecture.
