AnonD-494376, 01 Apr 2016Wtf, there's no phablets this year? It's the only reason I ... moreJesus, take HTC 10, s7 edge, lg g5?? what's your problem? people who loves small phones has no actual choice getting any, with flagship specs. Nobody wants to upgrade to midrange compact.

September... ugh... isn't this a bit too long?? been waiting for compact size smartphone era come back. Thank you iPhone SE for bringing android in to competition!

Thanks god manufacturers are realising that many customers do not like to use a heavy and big phones but willing to buy a comfortable handset with high class spec. It is also good that back and other buttons does not take space from screensize so 4.7 will be 4.7 and not 4.5.

If this isn't an april fools joke, then this is amazing. It's high time anyone made a compelling alternative to Sony's compact lineup (other than the galaxy alpha like a hundred years ago).
If HTC did get the camera right this time around, and they out a mini flagship, things should look a lot better for them this year. It would be smart of them if they also made some sense regarding the sheer amount of new devices cancelling each other out, making new phones obsolete a month and a half after hitting the market.

If the Snapdragon 823 is the "latest and greatest" by the launch of this device I guess it makes sense. People might be angry that the Mini is more powerful than the full 10 but maybe they'd be more angry if the Mini was "outdated".

Anonymous, 01 Apr 2016That's what she never said. Oh and by the way, all of you h... moreDefinitely an April Fool's joke. There's no way that HTC will make a 4.7 inch screen phone with SD823 while also making a 5" screen phone with SD820.
Instead it should be a 5.5"-5.7" phablet with the new SD823 chip with the return hopefully of slimmed down stereo ffs.

If SD823 turns out to be a higher-clocked SD820, then it makes no sense to put it in a Mini version of the HTC 10. SD652 is a more likely option or, if they want to take a leaf out of Sony's book, cram the same SD820 in it.

Small screen phones (anything under 5") dont interest me no more i much prefere large screen phones (anything 5" and over) the're just so much more enjoyable to use in my opinion. This 4.7" powerhouse if true will be a good alternative to the 6s and id imagine will appeal to lots.

AnonD-404798, 01 Apr 2016hm how about Xperia Z1C 4.3 inches , Z3C 4.6 inches and Z5C... moreBut its should be mentioned that Xperia Compact series, even if they have bigger screen with every version, footprint of those devices(overall size) its almost the same.
So when you compare them its still really small phone:
                                Z1c 127 x 64.9 x 9.5 mm with 4.3 screen
                                Z3c 127 x 64.9 x 8.6 mm with 4.6 screen
                                Z5c 127 x 65 x 8.9 mm with 4.6 screen

and comparing it to iPhoneSE that is 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6 mm with 4inch screen those 3mm and 6mm on width/high is REALLY not that big compared to what you can get.

And even after all those years, Z3compact just like Z5comapact still can fight with iPhoneSE in every possible way, even price and especially battery.
Because those smaller phones are not bought by people that need numbers and fake benhmarks, its for people that need reliable phone, fast and nice to use.

Based on the original M7 range, this one should probably sport a Snapdragon 650. Maybe that's the device that has been in news all along.
