I was so hyped by GSM when I read the iPhone 4 was finally using a Polymer battery, but clicked on one of the images to see that its still Ion :-(. I just have better resluts from polymer based batteries like in my SE phones than the ion in my iPhone 3GS.

Battery life is supposed to be great. It has an 1420 mAh battery.

Is the real battery life known yet? I would like to know more about it. I heard that the high resolution screen would drain the battery extremely fast. I am looking towards a formal review on everything.

Yes, these critics are ... moreWord of mouth is good, but I'd trust a professional opinion over the man in the street (who is more likely to have an agenda than someone who is paid to be critical). What I find preposterous, is that you are saying that if paid reviewers five a bad review, then no-one will read it? I would think some on this site would have a field day.
People will read reviews from journalists, whether it is good or bad does not make any difference.
Yes, I don't own an iphone 4 but the signs are there that, as usual, Apple has another success on it's hands, and I would put good money on it being a bigger success than the N8.

If you write the most accurate reviews of phones but no one reads them you will be out of a job. I prefer imdb over rotten tomatoes for that reason. I trust a large sample of the general public and all our flaws over a critic and their suspect motivations.

Have you ever watched a bad movie? Bad in an epic proportion? Like Catwoman, or Gigli? You know you can find respected critics write good reviews for bad movies. Must Watch! Movie of the Year!
These points remain:
1. You probably do not own an iPhone 4 (assumption based on probability). You are putting stock in what others are saying and not by owning the phone.
2. Those others are critics who may or may not have an agenda. To say they do not is you being naive. They want people to read what they write. You do not write about how FaceTime sucks. You write about how wonderful the iphone is. That will get the wanting public on your side.

industry standard camera quality pics,industry standard battery (although it'll won't last any way near as long in the iphone,previous iphone plagued this way also) Industry standard since last christmas with the 512 ram,some phones in fact have more ie htc desire 576 ram,nothing new here,except the price
