Motorola was making ... moreYou're right Motorola and Ericsson has been "the parents" of the mobile phones....but somewhere around years 2000-present Motorola was "covered" with dust. i don't know why but somewhere they made a mistake and they were "leaved behind" by other brand. Your right they were on the first three mobile phones company in 1996-1998.

Lets face it,retina display is just a marketing name, the real name is: "we wanted a high resolution display but because of our ugly 3:2 aspect and current apps that dont get upscale to a standard res we get forced to put 960*640 on 3.5 inch and we couldn't make it bigger cause then the current apps will look ugly in under 160 dpi"

This also happens with the 3GS, we just tried it and BAM!! The reception drops out exactly like the new iPhone 4 does.

.Pay for iDumb and b, 24 Jun 2010ifans now what will you say? Go and pay 1000$ for this..:)iPhone it was and it will remain a snobbish phone ( for foodie). If you want a good smart phone take a HTC or a Blackbarry, if you want a media phone take a Samsung or a Nokia and if you want a camera phone take a SonyEricsson. That's all I can say. Don't throw your money on a iPhone , just to be a snob. Think first, those brands that I mentioned, are in the mobile phone market for at last 10 years, they have done some mistakes at the begineng but now they are the best. I mean do you see MICROSOFT making phones??? NO...becouse they are better in a different domain.

Ok, I was in my local Orange store today (UK) and I tried an ip4-no signal drop at all whilst I was trying it!!
It's an At&t issue, absolutely no gripes at all, it was a joy to use.

TimmyTee, 24 Jun 2010LMAO!!! That's what you get when a computer company builds ... moreRadio has been round for ages and basics are basics,,if you send a signal thru the air lets say 1 mile and inbetween there are no atmospherics,,other radio signals,,electric apparatus,,walls,,steel and so on that signal has the best possible chance of getting from A to B..That is in planet cuckoo land and in real life thats not going to happen..What i am trying to put acroos for years is that you have to give that precious signal all the help you can,,so what happened is everyone wanted no stubby aerials to snag on their pockets so in comes the internal patch aerial,,then comes in the stainless steel and aluminiun fones etc,, i am just astounded all the time that the ENTIRE idea of having a mobile fone is to use when your not at home and it uses an R.F. signal too work properly is been impeded by manufacturers going out their way to impede the signal,,absolutly ridiculous..its also impacting on battery life which every other person is winging about...

Anonymous, 24 Jun 2010I'm sorry to say to all the people bashing that all phones ... moreWrong. Not all phones have initial problems and the reality IS that this is one of the most expensive phones on the market (if not the most expensive) and demanding an extortionate price this should NOT have any flaws forget basic reception issues. Hence the outrage.

LMAO!!! That's what you get when a computer company builds a cell phone-- A totally FUBAR'd antenna design. Any good RF engineer would know a conductive device like a HAND will detune the antenna. But of course the SOFTWARE GEEKS at Apple wouldn't know that-- maybe Jobs will announce a firmware release to fix it!!! BWHAHAHAHAHAHA!

The decrease in signal will push SAR levels way past the reccomended safety level and should be restested as a matter of public health..
