I'm sorry to say to all the people bashing that all phones have initial problems *Nexus* anyone? Just putting it out there. Don't slate it, when you develop a product that you are building millions of and don't have issues at launch I'll let you slate this as much as you like. Didn't make the Nexus a half bad phone, will do the same with this.

Wow, it is really shiny and display is colorful and sharp. This fragile fingerprint magnet will never be an option for me.

The lowering of the bars by touching the metal is a feature. When you an someone on the line and you don't want to talk any longer, but they won't shut up -- just touch the metal band on your iPhone 4, real static, and a real dropped call that you can mention being 'frustrated' about next time you run into them ;)

Well I got mine today just walked right in to the store at 9am no que whatsoever so far the phone is working like a dream no screen problems as yet for me and I tried holding my hand over the bottom left of the phone to the point where I was squeezing the phone and it didn't effect my signal, I must add I'm happy with my iPhone 4 and would rather read about other peoples thoughts rather than jelous jibes the phone may not be for everyone but it is for me and everyone else who has got there hands on one of these! If u don't like it, don't get it! Simples

Wow that is damn right awefull, 4 basic drops and it's toast, Pretty stupid you never know if the phone slips out or hand or what not and should be able to survive such things. Granted if you put force in the throw then i would expect that but gravitiy did the work which is just sad!!

Anonymous, 24 Jun 2010Well, I'm on the other side of symbian... the nokia. ... moreMy girlfriend is hardcore Nokia girl (and I am not a bit) but I love what they did with N8 and the design is flexible to keep the shape for QWERTY.

Vivaz Pro is impressive device but I desire more for X2, waiting to see if they will redo X2 with better specs. If not then I will take X2 just to keep it close to me and wait for something else from them that could fit my requirements. Till then P1 seems to all in. And I took it at first sight without waiting and it is working 24/7 with me on my daily life and business life also being a plaything in hands of kids of my sister. Good piece of machine overall for its age and best of its time. :)

I don't think any phone is meant to be thrown/dropped/beaten to a pulp, so I don't consider the iphone a flop due to the fact that someone repeatedly dropped it as a great fail by Apple.

The yellow spot gripe has already been addressed by the fact that it's simply an early chemical issue that resolves itself.

I eagerly await the release of the N8 to hear of the problems that it will have in it's early stages (Nokia has a track record here as well), but I hope they do release a sound device as they need to recover from the N97 debacle.

What Nokia and other handset manufacturers need to do is to break Apples hold over the media but I don't think they can. How can these companies compete with a single device that doesnt have an OS that spans over many phones and varies in it's effectiveness? Maybe Maemo can win over them, with it's open ended style, but it's still early days.

FireDragon, 24 Jun 2010Nice to know you too, man. Yes I am back on Symbian, again ... moreWell,

I'm on the other side of symbian... the nokia.

I really love P1, almost buy it when it's available, but I really hate the Sony Memory Stick, and also the price. So, I was in nokia bandwagon since Nokia 3650.

A couple of day back, I play with Sony Vivaz on Sony retail shop. Very impressive with resonable price. If you like your P1, I bet you will like the Vivaz Pro.

As for me, I'm waiting for the N8, hopefully, nokia will make one with QWERTY. :)

Yes I am back on Symbian, again and again although it is UIQ of Sony Ericsson and it has pretty neat look for its time. Too bad Sony Ericsson gives up on it but recently I am begin to feel they are to bring it back.

Personally, it is great for me by everything, yes it is outdated for many features but the features it have are just great.

Just recently I found a GDesk theme of BlackBerry Storm and put it on my P1 and man, that changes everyhing. I also have my own made themes for GDesk and others that I switch from time to time but mostly use the stock homescreen. All is good.

I remember when LG's sharpshooter (I am forgetting the brand name but it was famos and I liked it too) shows it can edit image and write things on picture taken from phone, a friend told me "that set can do that" with very excited tone of his voice. I showed him taking a snap with my handset, taking it to edit, changed couple of things here and there, added some text, edit some more just to show off it was all old stuff and it was my trusted Sony Ericsson P1i.

And I practically yell at Sony Ericsson that you guys should show all these damn things to the world because they don't have a clue what you guys have stored in your small box. This is exactly what is happening here that works in favor of Apple most of the time.

I practically gag every BlackBerry user come across me during meetings with the outdated abilities P1i posses. Name it cardreader, pdf reader, using excel or word document right off or just sketching out concept of their logo or whatever.

PSeehanach, 24 Jun 2010Alright; a phone should survive when get run over by a truc... morePhone is a part of you, it should take some of your tense on it because normally its the first thing came in direct reaction of your agressive behavior.

My friend has bad habit of throwing his phone or just knocking it against whatever is there, table or floor, blanket or carpet. He is just careless you can say but many sets servive in his hand. He bought a cheap China-phone and even that thing servive worst then this. He practically used to throw it to wall when he is angry. That thing is still working although after one very very hard throw the screen is out. It was a touchscreen phone by the way.

And I can give you more examples of accidents that I saw other day over youtube on a report specially for Smartphone accidents.
