I am finding many X5Pro owners are complaining about this. Also why does it comes with Fountouch OS 2.1 built upon ageing Android Lollipop 5.0.1 and why their are no android version upgrades to this expensive flagship phone.

Every thing is not price but it depends upon a quality of a product.
Vivo smart phones are quality product.
        I am using x5 pro
1)heavy use no hang slow issue in 2 gb ram
2)front 8 mp. Camera fully satisfied
        3)its smart features
        4)sound quality not compareable
        5)look is so sexy
6)mostly all useable apps are inbuilt
        .
        .

If u want to see the quality then go to vivo store and get demo of vivo product
Then u have to know what is quality
Price is genuine .and vivo is brand

RishiGuru, 06 Apr 2016Are you using some kind of translation software to write in... moreSir, using certain meanings of the English language that have no equivalent in my native language, some translators. Know that i and my colleagues, we appreciate your comments . Are pretty realistic and fair. About what you say, know that the truth is somewhere (as always) on the half.
I had the opportunity to see and to play, with all series of LeEco, less with Vivo. But I know that I've documented at my buddies, who used Live, and they told me that there are no major differences between the phones produced by LeEco and Vivo, as support. Inlegatura price, each company their own strategy. Who wants to sell the phones really, those categories of people poorer, will subtract prices,
Please in the future, not to sustain that belong among wealthy people (with money). I am a normal person, like you.

A very interesting series of phones, such as design, electronic equipment, and as that price. These phones must tested, deserves to see if they are really good or not.

Anyway what you are trying to imply is Vivo with their V3 & V3Max have managed to create a perfect balance between design & hardware. And their is a certain set of niche rich people like you who will prefer Vivo as a niche product over say their Chinese sisters Xiaomi or Leneovo or LeEco.

Have you ever used a LeEco device? Bcoz if you had you never would have told Vivo provides better quality for its price. I own a LeEco Le1s and Vivo V1Max. Even if Le1s is half as expensive as V1max, after using Le1s for a month I felt it had better built quality and had superior performance in every department bar none over V1Max. For example the Le1s will simply blow the V1Max out of the window in gaming performance and display quality. I have a similar feeling history will repeat itself with the upcoming Le2, a much better phone at half the price of V3Max.

As a smartphone manufacturer you can always provide good quality at a hefty asking price and then gain fat profit margins. It is only when you can provide the same quality at half the asking price which LeEco did will it be considered as an achievement. I love my Le1s and I will again say LeEco did a a fantastic job which compelled me to sell my V1Max. As an analogy people will pay big amounts of cash to get a Mercedes-Benz as it is a revered mark and also because of its constant commitment to customers. With zero android version upgrade policy followed by Vivo meaning zero commitment to their customers I don't know how you compared Vivo a niche smartphone maker.

anand, 05 Apr 2016Did u get a chance to compare vibe x3 with vivo 5x max? whi... moreI own a Vivo X5Max while my friend has a Lenovo Vibe X3. Hearing both extensively over multiple headphones, in my opinion and purely subjective analysis X5Max owns a slight edge over Vibe X3 in terms of audio quality. My friend also affirms this view. But then you are splitting hairs as both uses the same DAC in different hardware architectures having their own strengths and weakness.

At first you have to understand Vivo owns a special relationship with ESS, the best DAC manufacturer in the world. It is they who convinced ESS to make a DAC chip exclusively for their smartphones. Then ESS created the sublime Sabre ES9018 DAC only to be used in Vivo as in 2014 no other smartphone manufacturer were interested to put such an expensive DAC in their phones. DACs comes in different packages as mentioned below:

                      1) Integrated DAC Chip (DAC + Headphone amplifier): Generally this types of IC chip have lower audio performance compared to other type of DACs but are very cost effective. An example will be the AKM AK4375 chip used in V3 & V3Max which have an inbuilt stereo voltage output DAC combined with a Class-G headphone amplifier (an operational amplifier to amplify the volume) all in a single integrated chip.

                      2) Voltage Output DAC: These are discrete stereo DACs and offer far better audio quality than integrated solutions like AKM AK4375 and are hence expensive. An example will be the renowned Cirrus Logic CS4398 which produces analog voltage signals from digital data fed from the smartphone CPU. You can feed this output directly to headphones to listen to music but the signal will be very feeble and hence requires a discrete headphone amplifier to pump up the volume. Vivo X5Pro uses the CS4398 with a discrete Maxim MAX97220 operational amplifier (headphone amplifier), hence the sound over headphones is loud and clear with the punch to drive audiophile headphones.

                      3) Current Output DAC: The most expensive option with the highest audio performance. Here the DAC does not produce analog voltage(V) signals required to drive headphones from the digital audio stream of CPU but instead produces current(I) as output. ESS as the best DAC manufacturer produces such expensive & performance oriented DAC in the name of Sabre ES9018 for smartphones. But with performance comes cost & complications in hardware design as their comes an additional step in the audio path where the current output from this DAC needs to be converted to voltage signals on which headphones operate. This conversion is ultra critical for the final sound signature and in producing the desired tonality. ESS never wanted any other manufacturer to handle such a critical stage for their DAC and hence on Vivo's insistence created the ESS ES9601 operational amplifier to be exclusively mated with ES9018 DAC and perform this conversion. Mind you ES9601 op-amp is exclusive for Vivo and no other manufacturer can claim it. Vivo used this pair in their X5Max handset for the first time and additionally roped in another great name Texas Instruments to make the best performing OPA1612 operational amplifier (headphone amplifer) which further amplified the voltage signals from the ES9018 op-amp to the headphone out. The headphone volumes are so high and clear you can drive any audiophile in-ear headphones to the maximum with X5Max.
                      --------------------------------------------------------

X5Max is the most audiophile centric smartphone Vivo has ever created. I own one of them and I call it their masterpiece and only the to-be-released XPlay5 Elite have the potential to dethrone it. The Lenovo Vibe X3 on the other hand uses the same high-end ESS Sabre ES9018 DAC of X5Max but do not have access to Vivo exclusive ES9601 op-amp for critical I/V conversion. So what they did was clever, they used the best op-amp available in the market the same OPA1612 used in X5Max for voltage amplification to perform the current-to-voltage conversion in differential configuration. Here a OPA1612 is used for I/V conversion per channel, and hence two are required for the stereo output rather than one greatly improving performance. Then it uses another OPA1612 just like X5Max to amplify the voltage signal coming out from these two OPA1612 I/V converters. Lenovo was definitely inspired by Vivo's HiFi 2.0 architecture in X5Max and Vibe X3 is the result.

Subjectively speaking both are equally loud on same headphones, maybe Vibe X3 a fractionally louder but I believe the X5Max having access to the exclusive ES9601 op-amp made for ES9018 DAC have a slight edge. X5Max have slightly better separation, transients, plucked strings of a guitar is spot on and high frequency transparency is second to none. The Vibe X3 on the other hand have a slightly more authoritative bass, mids are more thick and mellow and male voices are slightly better put than X5Max. Female voices sound slightly better in X5Max. I will say Vibe X3's sound signature is something in between the mellow-ish X5Pro & sharp-ish X5Max. It is very hard to choose between the two and will completely depend of personal preference. Having said that Vivo & Lenovo have both done a stellar job in X5Max & Vibe X3 respectively and they are currently second to none in audio department. If you love complete separation of instruments and the openness in sound signature go for X5Max else if vocals is your primary concern go for Vibe X3.

                      Hope this helps!!!

I can see people from China and Malaysia to afford this but the rest of the list, i don't think so. There are lots of better alternative for them. Vivo is aiming the wrong countries.

Surely, there will be an acceptable price for that class of people who want with ardor, such a phone, with such top amenities, at a price you can afford. CONGRATULATIONS FOR VIVO.
