You are holding your iPhone 4 the wrong way, you know!

25 June, 2010
Yesterday's iPhone 4 launch was full of surprises - dead-on-arrival, yellow spots or white dots on the screen, lost reception signal and a bunch of happy users. But while yellow spots will likely disappear...

Hi all in regards to my comment yesterday, (reception problems with iphone 4) l spoke to Apple re my phone and they have come back to me saying basically too bad live with it. Being a big apple fan this is really disappointing, really upset ($1000 phone). Guys be honest won’t be supporting apple any more. Please believe me when l say this don’t by the phone stick with your 3GS. In regards to pixel problem l didn’t experience anything like that.

Here' proof of how far iphone haters would go just to give the iphone4 bad publicity. A fake Steve Jobs twitter account that posted of a recall of all iphones. And worst, the media even used it in their news as if its legitimate. Here's the link.

[deleted post]You are no electronic engineer, and neither am I. All I am saying is, as to what I have read at the Boy Genius site, they have identified this issue to be a software issue, not hardware. Who are you to say that it isn't? What if the software update coming out this week fixes the problem?

iOS 4.01 will have an immovable battery bars. It will always show full 5 bars irrespective of the signal strength.

This is a MAJOR flaw! There's no quick fix for a hardware problem. Apple should perform a massive recall as early as this week to avoid further damage and humiliation to their company.

It will naturally backfire to Apple. But no, people are still lining up outside Apple stores. Just proves how wrong you are. I will return my iphone4 if it cannot make calls. You don't even have to tell me. And yes, I am enjoying my iphone4 a lot. It's an awesome phone, and that's exactly the reason why you're hateful and insecure, because the iphone has more users than your nokia high end device.

after reading gsmarena review bout ios4 i think iphone4 is ROCK because:

                        * No Flash support in the web browser
                        * No true multitasking for all applications
                        * iOS4 for iPhone 3G has limited new feature set
                        * Poor performance on iPhone 3G
                        * No quick toggles for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or 3G
                        * No social networking integration
                        * No info widgets on lockscreen or homescreen
                        * SMS tones are still not customizable
                        * No mass mark emails as read
                        * No proper file browser or access to the file system
                        * No USB mass storage mode
                        * No vibration feedback when touching the screen
                        * No Bluetooth file transfers to other mobile phones
                        * Contacts lack a swipe-to-delete or mass delete feature
                        * No SMS/MMS delivery notifications
                        * No smart dialing (but Spotlight is a somewhat of a substitute)
                        * No DivX or XviD video support and no official third-party application to play that
                        * The whole iPhone is too dependent on iTunes - you cannot add the same type of content (video, photos, apps) to the phone from two computers, a regular file management interface would have been much better

plus u can put ur iphone4 into offline mode by touching the bottom.its cool people will love it.
so dont waste ur money anymore and decide it now to buy
                        x10,dell streak,N8,HD2,moto milestone or galaxy S.

Anonymous, 27 Jun 2010Well it's shocking how MULTIPLE devices never have had so m... moreMultiple issues that arent really issues, but rather exagerrated quibbles that haters like you repeat over and over again.

Look at you, you're not even an iphone user yet you post complaints in here way more than real iphone users. I won't be surprised if those anti iphone posts on other Apple forums are also a bunch of impostors.

The iphone's glass is not of cheap material at all. It's the most scratch resistant glass display in the market. You do not own an iphone4, how can you say that it has dead pixels and light leakage? All your complaints are nothing but fabricated ones from a nokia fanboy who's jealous of the iphone's unstoppable success.

The professional reviewers didn't see those flaws that you enumerated because they do not exist.

There are tons of videos on YouTube that displays how wonderful the iphone4 is.

And oh btw, Apple stores are still running out of iphones. You should try harder. Maybe instead of wasting your time in here, why don't you go to Apple stores and do your hateful demonstration over there :)

                            -dropped calls, bad signal
-cheap glass that scratches very easy - miserable lies in advertising
-cheap screen with light leakage and dead pixels - more lies
-inverted buttons - no quality control
-sim slot defects - bad soldering of components
-faulty cameras, microphones, proximity sensors - cheap parts

Yes, everyone who doesn't agree to pay for cr@p is a hater. Let's all shut up and keep it secred even if we got 600$ worth of junk that barely makes calls.

Honestly people are so ignorant it's unbelievable. Firstly every phone has it's flaws. There is no perfect phone or technology for that matter. There is always room to improve. Secondly, sales don't make the iPhone or any phone the best in the market.
The vast majority still just need a phone to make phone calls and have no use for smartphones. Sales first and foremost just represent popularity.

Honestly the best thing about the iPhone for me is it's popularity and following. Take away the app store and you get a pretty basic phone definitely not worth it's price. I currently have the iPhone 4 and I am quite satisfied with it. Lucky for me I don't have major antenna issues though I do lose bars from just holding it normally. This antenna issue is really something apple should just own up to. The rumored 4.01 update I have to say probably won't help much when it's mainly a hardware issue. If the update fails, which I believe it will, the only solution left would be to recall the phone but I doubt they will. Best guess would be to give free bumpers which is a horrid waste of money considering it's just some rubber to cover only the antenna.

The iPhone is a good phone but in my opinion definitely not that best in the market. Ive grown tired of the OS. This is just my opinion. Whether any phone is the best in the market is just an opinion regardless if it's coming from tens of millions of users. If you're happy with your phone then all the power to you but please don't go bashing other phones. It's just childish and what do you gain from it? It's not like any of these companies are paying any of you to represent their phones.

That being said, use the phone that best suits your needs and just enjoy this healthy competition that most importantly benefit us the consumers.

And funny how the first hand reviewers failed to notice the signal issue first hand. Like engadget who is paid by apple for example ;)
Good thing they came back on the issue to not discredit themselves completely :)))
Of course, they don't have antenna issues because apple isn't cashing up to counter the negative publicity made by thousands of users... right!

                                -faulty cameras, microphones, proximity sensors

Why don't you shoot some videos and share them with us to prove it ain't so?

Anonymous, 27 Jun 2010this is crazy are u telling me that there is a right or wro... moreThere is of course no right or wrong way in holding a phone. Heck you could use your foot to hold your phone if you wish to and it wouldn't be wrong. Maybe inappropriate, but never wrong. And sometimes the way we do things may not always work for a device. I am not saying that it is anyone's fault. I'm just saying that as Steve had said it, "it's a fact of life". The new antenna design of the iphone indeed improved its signal reception, but in turn, there's a little catch to it, and that is avoiding to touch that little area of the phone when holding it, or, get a bumper case for it. But Apple isn't just sitting there and saying "deal with it", for a software fix is on it's way this week. The fact that they redesigned the iphone and did what they did with its antenna so its users can have improved reception which has been the iphone's weakness since its inception. It obviously didn't work out perfectly, but they are trying, and are still trying to make it work better.

Bricked, 27 Jun 2010http://stuff.tv/Review/Apple-iPhone-4-review/ Lol, ANOTH... moreOr maybe the iphone is indeed a great phone and you just refuse to believe it. You cannot discredit all the positive things about it just for a squibble about losing bars when gripping that small part of the phone. That's the thing. You detractors focus so much on that mishap and totally forget that the iphone4 still has other strong offerings. Even with that issue, iphone4 still has better call quality and stronger signal than the 3gs. It still has the best display. It is now the thinnest smartphone ever. It is faster. Improved battery life. Better camera for photos with led flash. Awesome video recording and video editing capabilities. Beautiful design. Smart multitasking. Even improved responsiveness to an already topnotch touchscreen. Unmatched stability. And many more. And that is why it still sells a lot. And will continue to outsell Nokia's high end devices. Even if the N8 might not have reception issues on how you grip the phone, but believe me, it will have more other things about it that are more annoying. Just wait and see.
