Wow this really has revolutionised how we use a mobile phone now we have to learn from the master how to hold a phone while making calls. There are those who claim that no phone is perfect and each phone has its own faults yes thats right but when we come to high end devices we'd accept faults like lack of fancy graphics or a fairly unstable os which is usually stabilized with a few firmware updates but we can't accept faults like poor network reception due to holding some parts of the phone which limits the user's freedom while handling the device. This wouldn't have been a big deal if iphone wasn't primarly made as a phone maybe lets say it was a just a tablet that can make calls then users would only see the phone calling feature as just an optional feature which wouldn't really need perfection. But for mobile phone to have such issues its totaly not acceptable even tablets such as the n900 which have all basic mobile phone features have excellent network reception. THIS IS A FAULT AND APPLE NEED TO FIX THIS IMMEDIATELY AND NOT CHOOSE TO IGNORE IT BY PROVIDING LAME INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO HOLD YOUR PHONE. This makes steve jobs look like a con artist if he doesn't accept any mistakes they have done in this iphone.

Steve should patent this "great" design and exclusive "feature" right away before everyone else start "copying" it.
Apple can fix this "issue" by software, everytime signal will going down they will "magically" show it is going high again.

goron goron, 26 Jun 2010errr im from third world country and i dont use fruit itoy ... moreFirst time the mobile really kicked me was Sony Ericsson K750, man beautiful design and it felt like its for me, Good camera of its time. Then next thing I got was M600's older brother P1i, they are almost identical, good in power and I am telling you, everyone I met who used P1 or M600 with its all power, hardly ever satisfy with any other set up till now. Macs are different story tho but iPhone is a good hell for those who really know what a smartphone is.

but i think apple want to make a new feature that can switch ur phone instanly without software side or apps.
iphone4 new feature will be called "no reception button". lol
and they will not suing other smartphone maker bcause of this incredible new feature, because no company want to have the "no reception button" like ip4.

i agree GSMArena "...Apple's attitude. Pretending such thing is not a big issue, saying it's a normal thing for a cellphone to lose signal, and not admitting a design flaw - that's arrogant." If they would be honest and admit their mistake than I would be willing to buy from them, but since they are acting like the customers are wrong than I will pass on buying the iphone 4.

my music player is SE w810,netbook dell,im free from fruit company infection.
and the 1st time i know that iphone is just a toy is after my first time holding my past SE m600i which i bought it secondhand,i realise that the itoy that i bought so expensive is not a smartphone,it feel like sony PSP for me after i met SE M600.
yes in my country apple is fashion like honda fits or blackberry fever, its an icon of luxury(but stupid lol)but not everyone in my country that stupid include me and my brother and sister who sold his and her itoy after using it for only a week.

Apple will be releasing a fix for this issue early next week. Read below.
"As previously reported by many new iPhone owners, the signal strength of the iPhone seems to be dependent on the placement of users’ hands. Now however as more users who don’t even own the iPhone 4 are reporting similar problems when having upgraded to iOS 4, people are starting to speculate that there is also a software issue involved in the matter.
According to sources the updated firmware iOS 4.0.1 is expected to address a issue in iOS 4 related to radio frequency calibration of the baseband. As you might remember iOS 4 introduced some enhancements to how the baseband selects which frequencies to use, so it makes sense that the error may have crept into those changes. This is also an indication that this is a software issue and not hardware related.
The firmware is expected to be released during the next week, with speculations that it could be as early as Monday. We will of course keep you updated as we receive more information."
