A big part of the increased revenue stream can be attributed to the Galaxy S7 flagship duo.

P, 08 Apr 2016Full recharges are the best for the battery. What are you e... moreI just made this account to reply to you.

We don't live in the 90:s anymore. What you are talking about is Lead acid batteries which was supposed to be fully charged and discharged which is why you always had to charge the cellphone extra long the first time.

Nowadays we use Lithium-ion batteries which happens to thrive in the range of 20-80% charged capacity, hence you get the smartphones pre-charged to around 50-60%.

Either way, the cycling of charge/discharge doesn't affect the battery life as much as temperature. Warm temperatures will kill any battery way faster than a bad habit of always having low or full battery.

As much as this wouldn't be my pick, there is a large group of people, that really like this system, and because iPhones are the only ones riding that train (obviously, same company), they still are relevant to the customers. But I said it before, and I'll say it again. Apple CEO Tim Cook (in my eyes of course), completely destroyed Steve Jobs legacy. First iPhone was an innovation, revolution in a tech world. Every company wanted to be, where Apple was at that time. Nowadays the tables turned. Nobody really looks up to them any more. Not many really cares.

For a years apple had one single advantage - metal uni bodies. That was the only good thing compared with the rest of the phones. However, not all the manufacturers makes their premium phones from metal + they have better specs. There are no longer any advantage in Apples side.. and people starting to realise that. I don't believe iPhone 7 will solve the core issue for apple - they no longer stand out of the crowd.. and that means death for not-innovative and technologically dependent company. Maybe not this year and not next, but one day they will be in no better position than Blackberry.

Everybody knows that in order to preserve a battery it's best to give it bigger charges up to 100% and once a month or so, to let it drain completely...i've done that with all my phone and they worked like a charm for 2-3 years (except for one of those ugly iphone 6 i was unfortunate to have for half a year).

I have the S7 Edge now and it's by a mile the best phone i've ever had...stick to iphone, xiaomi, huawei, etc if you don't want quality and class x

AnonD-405216, 08 Apr 2016Really ? Tell me why Apple release iphonese and profit dropOh I'm gonna tell you alright my friend. Because Apple is an exception to that rule. Because as much as this size of the phone makes sense (for those wanting smaller device), the price Apple asks for it is simply outlandish, it's like a slap to the face, a joke if you will. And as much as Android world was already laughing, Apple fans started to think "WTF is this?" same as the rest. But if they learned the lesson, profits will go back up with iPhone 7 (unless they will do something really stupid with it). Perhaps it was an experiment from Apple. Seeing how dedicated fans the have, they wanted to see how far they can push it and how much they can get away with. That would be my guess.

I am simply following advice given to me when I purchased my phone, which is to let the battery run down before recharging. As I said in my previous post, I use my phone regularly, and have had two Samsung phones now, the first I owned for the full two years of my contract before I upgraded to my current phone, which I have had for over 12 months now. I have never had to replace a battery, and find that I get a lot of life from the battery in the phone (the first was a Galaxy Ace 2, current a Galaxy S5).
