Well, having a second camera just to take B/W photos doesn't make any sense. Camera quality still didn't beat Xiaomi MI5, and for this configuration, battery also doesn't seem to be perfect.

the fact is that huawei has been improving year after year butthis camera is not bad .. problem is that if u saw already a picture coming from a G5 or S7 then any thing not on par is jut bad .... well not my point of view but something unacceptable for todays standards is the lack of 4k im sure most of us have either 1080p or 720p tvs even ones with old crt tech because they still like them .... but if u have money to spend on such a xpensive phone is because some has 4k tv ... and not that u cant fit a 1080p video on a 4k ...it is just that video quality is not good for a phone in 2016 they should update this because software is more than capable... and i dont think that it is lack og gpu or img processing .....

1:1 in my laptop shows horrible unsharp crispy dirty whatever noise: unclear dirty photos, worst video ever!!!! How can Leica have signed this?
What makes me flip out is that a "professional photographer" has commented that the stills are perfect. wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwhat?????? Did you mean, you are a Leica worker or something like that right? OMG

this is crap useless cam compared to s7 first autofocus really bad second low light lots noise thirs does not support 4k video really bad waste of money it worth around $150 no more

Well, when you check pic samples 1:1 it's not sharp with a lot of noise and smudges. Samsung S7 pictures look much better: clear with more detail. With that price tag, it's just not good enough (P9).

I'm a professional photographer.
1) You can't judge the quality of the camera by the photographer.
2) If you look at these photos at pixel depth you can see a remarkable quality for a 'smartphone camera'.
3) The low light and image definition is actually very good...for a 'smartphone camera'.

In all due respect to all of you complaining about the quality of the photos, on my computer the photos are amazingly clear , as a matter of fact they seem perfect. even the video is very clear, although I must say, it starts off blurry, but then it focus itself and becomes beautifully clear. I think you guys who have a problem with the photos, should check you computer or whatever device you use. ( for the record, I'm a LG 4 Fan. )

well folks if you want a cheaper duoscopic camera with this same technology get a qiku q terra, picture quality looks very similar to me

Not really that much better than even the 2015 flagship camera quality. But I have to say that the city lights aren't overblown as with phone cameras that have f stops that are lower than 2.0.

Photos: horrible sharping, fluffy noise everywhere in low light, bad focus, like old nokia phones. I can`t believe it. It must be a joke. Someone just uploaded this photos to damage Leica's reputation...
Video: the same horrible attempt to sharp, horrible irregular definition, big jumps when recording bus in motion!!!!!, also jumps cose of OIS ausence.
REALLY, IS THIS THE SUPER HIPER MEGA CAMERAS BET BY HUAWEI FOR 700€????? I JUST CAN NOT BELIEVE IT.

Look at latest HTC teaser. Everyone say at premier that its best ultra, super mega and we can hide our cameras, music players and dogs, because its so good....
And after device hit market it hit also reality and if its not software bug that will never gonna be solved, its just hardware that is just not as they said.
Actually most of best camera on phones are those that where not advertising as a "photographic" device, and it was just addon that was well made. Rest just want to make people believe in this lies and buy it.
Im not saying that Huawei p9 is bad, actually its damn good device, but camera probably gonna be good or average compared to other devices.

I like Huawei's philosophy. They're going in the right direction and this twin camera setup should make exquisite pictures as soon as it's all finalized and polished.
