So there's some hope left that t... moreI think that hope is hanging by a thread. The point of prototypes is to generally reflect the intended design of the phone, if not to have all the polished details in fit and finish. I don't think they'd put the fingerprint scanner on the front of the prototype if they didn't intend it to go there.
Also phone designs tend to follow each other across manufacturer. This just seems to be the year everyone is putting the fingerprint scanner on the front and making their phones look like a cross between the iPhone and the Galaxy Sx phones.

5" phones are fine most of the time, 5.5" will be the perfect size.

Why is there a person everywhere to say "it looks like an iPhone" for everything a manufacturer tries. It's like saying every f**king thing is made great by apple. Even if someone tries to design a phone out of wood, there are people to say "it is a exact iPhone replica"

Great if they put the fingerprint scanner on the front that will mean both HTC and Motorola are dropping the stereo front facing speakers (in the photo there does not appear to be any speaker grill on the bottom of the phone).
I guess that's also why HTC did it, to stick in the fingerprint scanner on the front of the phone.
Take a great feature, stereo front facing speakers, replace it with a "security" feature of dubious value (fingerprint scanners are incredibly hackable and only becoming more so), and you have a "new" phone that's worse than the old model. Security theater over function.

We all know by now, they will come out with their usual tiny 5" phones for people with abnormally tiny hands. I have average size hands but now using an 8" tablet as my phone as well as a 6.4" Z Ultra. I think people do need to get surgery done to enlarge their hands.
