thats the reality. nobody want to buy an overpriced device like that. blackberry era is over. people prefer apple, samsung, sony, lg, and xiaomi these days. no room left for bb.

The priv was 1st shown at mwc in March last yr, months before snapdragon 810 was even announced which is the only reason it didn't come with the 810.
The chip alone doesn't determine flagship status, nor does it render the Quad core dual curved edged Hd display, 18mp Schneider Kreuznak certified camera, capacitive keyboard, stereo sound, 3410mAh battery, 2TB expandable memory irrelevant.
Samsung and iphone have smaller cameras, less ram in iphones, mono speakers, smaller batteries, no innovation, so what about it made you believe its premium? It has brand power. Don't forget they share the market but BlackBerry once dominated it Alone, the networks killed it because they lost out to BIS. That's the actual reason they slid downhill because there is no device more productive than a BlackBerry, you comparing toys to a machine.

I have a priv it's actually a really good phone, but I don't use the physical keyboard at all, the same phone without the keyboard and at the more realistic price they are now, would be a winner... Some of the blackberry apps are really useful, I like it far more than i thought I would...

Chen is for the most part clueless. One bad decision after another. Overpriced phone after overpriced phone. Apparently Chen thinks since the other fruit company can charge a premium, so can he.
So now the company plans to forge ahead with a new strategy which is...drum roll please....focus on the mid range market without a flagship!!!
What a move Chen. All the most profitable phone companies have no flagship phones.
The z30 was the closest blackberry has come with providing a flagship phone in the last 5 years and even it lacked flagship features you could match up against other phones, yet they still charged a premium.

it,s time for bb lower there price. but there are still a but. they have to come whit somthing new on there phone there ARE MANY PHONE,S out there .but if you pay atention the only thing,s there are doing i coming whit some minor hardware changes in terms of speed Funktionality ram and cpu cam and size and pixel .and making them waterproof look what htc is doing. working on there phone sound to be diferent. because they are all using the same android so they have to do somthing to be diferent. samsung it self is playing whit there touchwiz look at there new app lock. so in the future there there will be some changes the only thing to bring back bb and for real even if it it is in the android world is to come whit somting new the have to think out of the box

Blackberry way to shoot your self in the foot you have not learned from history for Example learn from nokia, motorola, and other big name out there strugling to sell even mid range phone ( surender and retreat ) come with better plan in future nokia is coming after a long, I hope they come with big plans

Maybe if they didn't price their phones way too much then they would actually be better off than they are today. But no. They still believe that they can command premium prices for their phones, when in reality their brand is no longer a relevant player in the smartphone market today.

Honestly,Blackberry should leave the smartphone market already.They have nothing to do here.The Priv is nowhere to compare to a Samsung,an Lg,an Apple,or even a Huawei,or Meizu flagship .Still,they are asking for a more premium price.People not gonna spend their hard earned money for an overpriced midrange phone,if they can get a REAL flagship for a much cheaper price.The Blackberry myth is over,try to compromise,and lower your prices steeply,if you wanna stay in the game,otherwise you ll gonna be the next NOKIA!

By the time they unveil 'midrange' handset, BB Priv will be midrange. Snapdragon 808 is already a midrange chip. They just dont understand the point. LG G4 now costs 300 euros in Europe but BB Priv is 650 euros and they have the same specs. This 400 price refers to Privs realistic price. If LG is selling its device for 300, ok i would pay for Priv extra 100 for its added features but 650 is just too much.

I couldn't agree more with the conclusions of this writer. BlackBerry needs to widen the target markets for its devices. The mid range is definitely the key area. And thanks to recent releases (most notably Chinese manufacturers) the midrange is actually showing the upper end of the market a thing or two andbin the process delivering outstanding value for money. If one of the forthcoming devices (the keyboard based one has been code named 'Vienna') is priced attractively it will help to revive BlackBerry's fortunes, keep their loyal customer base on size and also win over new converts who might be attracted by the prospect of a physical keyboard and a combination of BlackBerry's security whilst also having access to Android's extensive app eco-system.

Make SD650/652, 12MP Camera, 5MP Selfie, 2/3gb of RAM, 16gb Storage + SD Card (it should be able to install apps on sd card thought), 4,3 - 4,7" 720p screen for Keyboard version and 1080p 5,5" for No Keyboard, with price around 300-400usd around the world (not in USA).
I will be buy it if this device run smoothly
