I think this is a fake announcement by HTC people. They just want to cool the heat around them. And after few months, HTC might say "Inspite of al our efforts, we are unable to launch HTC 10 (SD820, 4GB version)." And we will not complain much, because by that time leaks and rumours for 2017 flagship would start coming up.

[deleted post]I think it will be appropriate to blame GSMA. How would you justify the logic of listing SD820 on US site but SD652 on Indian site? Cleary they didnt have intention to release it in the first lot. Once they are done with other countries, they will start thinking about India.

First of all, its a foolish decision that HTC will not launching HTC 10 but will launch Lifestyle. Dont understand their marketing strategy here. India is one of the fastest growing mobile market. Now till date top mobile phone is LG G5 and Samsung S7. If HTC launch H10 lifestyle then its not high end phone but mid range phone as the chipset is SD 652 but not SD820. So HTC here is out of competition.

Not only India friends... Thailand's HTC website shows the same. And Indonesia too. Most likely all of South East Asia will get this version.

So, if no HTC 10 SD820 version in india, the choice is now more clear either S7, LG G5 or to wait and watch out for OnePlus 3....

Even if they dont launch 10 in India then also no problem. I dont think it will get any buyeer anyway because S7 is hugely popular here.
But they should price lifestyle properly.
