In my Opinion I somehow strongly feel that WP7 would be a huge hit like Windows 7 (after Vista), XP-SP2 was a great HIT after windows XP.
windows 98 SE was a great HIT after Windows 98. there is a long list like this ZUNEHD is an awesome product made after flop Zune.
MS is a company who will never sit quiet. it will keep trying stuff but MS doesn't have much time left to do any further research & be in compitition and the best part is MS realised this fact.
the first sign is - hardware ristrictions, completely re-written OS from scratch. and many more stuff....!! but with this the most important part is execution of product..!
histry says :- MS when in pressure - deliver the best.
I am Apple & MS fan (no doubt about it), somehow I feel after watching latest videos, reading lots of blogs on WP7 that it will be HUGE HIT.

Microsoft should have listened to every review site/tech blog and focused on the Courier instead. I remember when both of the Kin and the Courier were announced, and almost everyone seemed way more interested in the Courier.
Apple is doing quite well with one phone and one tablet device. Why does Microsoft feel the need to release two phone series (three devices altogether) and kill their tablet?

MS, if you are listening.... Get ready for the fight or prove it, and re-write your space with WP7.

Anonymous, 02 Jul 2010I dont understand why so many people are happy and want MS ... moreI totally agree with you... HD2 is a master piece (in terms of hardware), but the OS (winmo 6.5) totally insults the phone. And damn MS/HTC declared that they are not launching WP7/android (respectively) for HD2 which is a total disappointment. Anyway the guys at XDAdev are on it and yipee they have an android version for HD2 coming soon.
Even i am not limiting myself to a single OS. As of now Android and iOS are ruling the mobile/tablets/netbook market.
Nokia had great phone ages ago. So, here is a hint for the guys at Nokia.... Wake up. ;-)

I don't know if Microsoft invested heavily in Kin (as described in news).
every company can enter the market it wants but under certain conditions :
1.Set right target to reach.
2.high quality Engineering.
3.massive amount of assets.
and that's all as a company you can order various components from multiple suppliers and assemble it.
there are plenty of such companies from TV and consumer electronic to Auto.
then it's come to pre-installed software in devices that make it worth or waste of money so with merger of Kin team in Win team i think those $ that Microsoft invested are actually not lost but just like Windows 7 will turn to profit.

I dont understand why so many people are happy and want MS or even S60 to die?? I like having a choice in what OS I use and I sure do not want that choice to only be Android or Apple!!!! I really like Win Mobile 6.5 on a device that can handle it like the HD2 and I really like Symbian S60 3rd/5th edition on my Nokia phones... Yes I own a apple device and have over 150 Apps on it and guess what??? I only use 1 App out of the 150!!!! I don't care about APPS!!! I want functionality and features not just a simple UI. Apple is great for my mother because she know jack about running a smartphone but I dont want my phone ran for me. I want to tweak it and customise it. So just because Apple has a consumer friendly device does not mean everything else should go! imagine if we only had MAC OS X and linux and windows were gone, as a tech guy I would hate the world we live in because I like Linux and Windows equally and dislike OS X. I personally worry about the market and how it will change because the web screams apple and android! I don't care what YOU buy, but dont ruin it by making the companies all try to copy and compete with one style of smartphone. Let me enjoy my WinMo 6.5 and my Symbian S60 in peace! Please.

The future looks bleak for M$oft... as the CPU's get faster and the features/software improve, mobile phones are going to takeover many of the daily tasks that PC's perform for the majority of people and unless the new WM OS is exceptional then those phones won't be running a Microsoft OS (in reality, of course they aren't mobile phones at all any longer but rather small, high powered computers with native GSM and WiFi based networking capabilities)
HP paid $1.2 billion for Palm in order to have a shot at this market and it seems to be all to play for with Google, Apple, Samsung and Nokia all fighting to see who's OS will dominate the next phase of personal computing
Interesting times...

Finally! An article written with articulation and flair. I was getting tired of reading the flat, cliche-ridden and grammatically-flawed articles written by ESL students... Thank you, GSMArena!

Honestly, this was a big mistake from the start. The only way it could have worked is if they had delivered it at least a year ago to have some gap between the Kin & WP7. With WP7 coming out and a lot of ppl (such as myself) waiting for it, it's hardly surprising no one bought the Kin. I'm out of contract on AT&T so just waiting to see what WP7 looks like so i can compare with Android and figure out which one i want.
