If microsoft didn't have such a monopoly with Office and Windows they'd have been gone long ago. Fortunately for them Windows will always dominate due to market share and the difficulty for large organizations to adopt a Linux based OS. As for the smart phone market, they are gone. WM was always terrible and unless they come out with something out of this world, then they are gone. They just don't have the marketing ability to find a niche, they stick to their old mentality of trying to take down the opposition. Won't work anymore, Apple, Google and Nokia are huge in the mobile industry and huge overall.

Anonymous, 01 Jul 2010better to focus on Windows Phone 7 because Mircosoft needs ... moreThose 2 Kin phones were made by Sharp. Sharp is the most advanced mobile phone maker. I suppose Microsoft didn't paid a lot 4 them, and the result is 2 ugly phones. Believe me guys, Sharp can make AWESOME phones! They have 12 MP camera phones with big WVGA screens, they can make waterproof phones, they can make full HD phones too.

This feels pretty sad,but obviously,a Win7 phone should be or could be what's best for a top mobile platform. As for Microsoft's ability to produce quality hardware,I remember the first xbox,a top class everything that still works today, but too few games were made for it,now it's gonna be the opposite, we'll have the games(Winmo7) but too few hardware to enjoy it on.
Some poor decisions always keep Microsoft down like the HD/Blue-ray battle for instance, but we need Microsoft to keep Apple honest, and who hasn't had an Apple product that blocks every so often you had to buy a new one ???

I am not sure about this.

It would appear that MS is trying to pull an Apple with WP7. Its not going to be as good as IphoneOS for consumers and not as good as WM6.x for business users. So where is the market?

MS should have developed KinOS for consumers and left WP7 for the business users.

This doesnt look like its going to end well for MS sadly.
