1300nits sure to burn your battery.it can be maximised maximun 40%of the brightness.otherwise your phones will be extremely hot

This display tech will kill Samsung SAMOLED... because SAMOLED can't show HDR and high nit... it will make SAMOLED burn in much faster...

Excellent Sony! You are going in right direction with display technology. This is much better than just pumping more pixels! I hope you use OLED technology for your future displays.

ha ha ha how funny.the phone is not even out yet many are complaining about.it.just tell me how much did samsung apple or whatever other brand company paid you to trash talk about other phones that are not even out yet.i will pay you double and buy you this phone so you can try and give your suggestion after trying it out ok.

Most people here don't understand the HDR screen. The 1300 nits brightness is meant displaying pictures/videos which shows light source such as the sun. Take a look at a sun picture on your phone and it will appear just white without any glare to your eyes(unrealistic). This HDR screen will be able to control brightness on selective areas of the screen for example boosting the white portion of the sun picture/video to 1300 nits while the other parts of the screen is at normal brightness so that your eyes will experience the glare of staring at a light source which will make watching photos or videos appear realistic on a whole new level. Kudos to Sony for introducing this technology
