Mi4 was a masterpiece that stood in time better than few other phones. At present I have Marshmallow installed on it and it's faster than ever. A testament of how far and away good engineering and software support can go.

Mi5 on the other hand is meeeh. Longer body, smaller battery for the size, lower ppi, same 3gb of ram despite ram (and not cpu) being the most important thing for every day performance. Far more expensive than mi4 and now this!?!?

You dissapointed me Xiaomi, better redmi 3 pro ... it costs Dar less and probably gives you more.

Like he said you can use a cover but i don't think that a cover can save this crap from bending if in case we fall wearing a tight jeans and a mi5 in a pocket...juss imagin what will happen... BOOM! Lol...
Polycarbonate is far better then metal don't copy apple guys copy Old Gold Nokia's Instead....
Though still a lover of Xiaomi i have Mi3 and i've dropped it tons of times nothing happened till now maybe cz of it's GOLD NOKIA inspired Polycarbonate Unibody..

My heart shattered when looking at this easily fracture phone. This phone is too fragile to call it's just bend. Wait for mi6 guys, they must improve its strength because they'll take lesson from this. They must feel unease right now because the device just launched to the public, this might affect its sales.

Anonymous, 22 Apr 2016Cheap means nothing. Oneplus 2 passed the same bend test. ... moreOne plus 2 didn't even have NFC, and it cut a lot of other corners as well. And one plus 2 wasn't even that cheap.

Only problem with mi5 is it bends easily.

Anonymous, 22 Apr 2016do your research before buying. and for the love of GOD... moreI agree. Being a fan is one thing, but being a fanatic is another thing. These fan boys will do anything to protect their "idol" without even realizing they are not doing justice to anyone, incld themselves.

And to some people who say "Who will try to snap a smartphone like that ?".
The answer is, you will.....when you put it in your pant's pocket, where majority of men usually do. In fact, the pressure in your pant's pocket will be much greater than the pressure applied by your fingers, because you will put pressure of your whole upper body on it. If it snaps even with your finger, you can imagine what will happen in your pant's pocket.

I'm sure , some fan(atics) will talk back telling "don't put in your pant's pocket. It's simple". Well, in that case, you will probably have to tell Xiaomi to put a warning on the back of the phone "Not suitable for pocket use", which will make Xiaomi to be the first phonemaker ever to give such warning".

No he is not right. 99% of our electronics are made in China. Most of them are very good quality. I have had German made laptops (Siemens) the plastic was so cheap it cracked after 2 month of use. After that i bought a Asus laptop (Made in China) and it lasted me for well over 3 years. I own a Xiaomi Note 2 and the quality is outstanding.

Xiaomi is cheap - but it is way better than all other phones in the market in terms of performance.

Cheap means nothing. Oneplus 2 passed the same bend test. Iphone failed.

It's just Xiaomis chosen design. Thin + light while keeping high mah battery.

How many need to worry about bending phone like this? It's a moot point for 99.9% of consumers unless you sit on your phone often.
