beccause UHD has two version 4K or 8K to differ these two you can use term QFHD for 4x FHD (1080p) meaning 3840x2160 16x9 version of 4K UHD , ( DCI 4K=4096x2160, it is used in cinemas)

Changing resolution will have little impact on battery life unless it reduces the size of the area of the screen being used.

Whether you can see resolution difference is depend on the distance of the screen to your eye.
In normal smartphone usage, FHD is enough and there is no need for QHD as people having problem to discern the resolution difference.
VR however is a different case, The screen is placed way closer to the eye where QHD does have visible differences.
