Heating issues should be reduced with newer models.
i doubt mine is faulty, it just a well known issue that Z1 camera would shut down easily due to heat.

During summer its usually averages 35-45.

The only Sony which suffered from overheating was the Z3+ and that was due to Snapdragon processor. The Z5 Premium is not known to heat up. Most phones will warm up somewhat in extreme/heavy gaming situation.
On a separate note, unless Sony offers a top end phone, like the Xperia X Premium, it is a pass for me. 5" inch screen and FHD does not float my boat. Simples.

When i first b... moreduring summer sometimes it goes up to 45 degrees Celsius( I'm from Balkan and climate is awful ) , also I travel a lot trough Europe and one of my favorite destinations is Spain and Sweden and I didn't experience big difference in devices behavior in this two country's that have very different climate ... anyway you can heat the device badly if you use 4K recording or those AR effects but for normal camera use (taking photos and videos) is perfectly fine .
If you experience a lot of heating issues then your phone is defective or something is wrong with the software . overheating issues are force close of the apps,frame rate drop in the games or general slow down in performance but if device is just feels warm to the touch doesn't mean it has any heating issues because it's absolutely fine up to 42 celsius !

When i first bought Z1 the camera would constantly shut down due to heat.
This was during the summer season. (over 40 degrees Celsius every day)
But during winter camera ran perfect and would never overheat.
I'm guessing you live in country where its never above 30 degrees all year.

I have used 7-8 diff sony models or may be mroe than that and never faced any prob.
