If you are that much capable start your own company. it was you started by going hard at le eco le 2 from day 1 without using it,people admire new gadgets and comment later based on their own user experience or from trusted user reviews. and you audiophile, users don't need that much of detail you say it lacks. what you pay you get that. why did you go hard at it,.its 10999 yuan. i just commented details of le 2, you replied with that big audiophile brain, this made people comment back. You keep your audio knowledge and reply as common user. you commented no big DAC chips or names labelled. you never bought le 2 to tear open and see inside stuff. mediatek integrated wolfson HD audio in their Soc chips. some names die in dealings to make one superior. on paper its mediatek vs qualcomm even Qualcomm use patients of Ericsson, people see it as mediatek and qualcomm, dont bother with internal patent ties. more or less the same way you get hardware in le eco le 2 to make a complete phone to compete with their rivals. you cant go hard at le eco le 2 without using it once.

RishiGuru, 27 Apr 2016It seems you have no conception about how audio works and h... morei know sony, fiio makes players,...its a typo that you understood that way..for 1099 yuan..you said no mention of wolfson,ESS, op-amps,..only clda is marketing trick,..may be its marketing,.Wolfson,Ess,etc... charges alot for DAC chips which are less than 5-6 dollar to make them. here with le eco 2 there will be some sort of technology trade will be there with some reputed companies such that name should not be mentioned as it undervalues that Wolfson,ESS(say). lenovo k4 note got wolfson chip..no name chip with same capabilities cant be ignored..if audio is not good users will know this from the first user reviews..le 2 can be 97/100 where others at 95..for 1099 yuan its hard to expect big names. usb type-c is superior to 3.5 jack in signal transmission, in terms of power and data .its correct that better tunning, power balancing, good earphones make the difference.le eco 2 page says "The 3.5mm headphone jack unprecedented cancellation, bid farewell to the analog transmission signal bottleneck 3.5mm headphones, analog signals easily avoid interference caused by headphones noise; Channel Separation difference caused by poor-quality stereo; and a mobile phone with a headset is not easy to match It can not lead to the release of all the surging sound.
The phone in the process of transferring audio codec to Type-C digital headphones, 3.5mm headphone jack across bottleneck, truly pure digital phone to headset lossless music transfer, to bring you mobile music beyond the cognitive Teana voice" and on hifi audio "Beyond Hi-Fi Sound Of Nature

Why will a smartphone have multiple D/A & A/D stages between the chipset (say Snapdragon 820) and the driver units of your earphones? It is crystal clear you know nothing about audio tech and are a complete LeEco fanboy.

To clear your confusion their is exactly one conversion stage from D/A. Till now it used to happen inside the phone, but LeEco thought otherwise and planted this D/A conversion inside their earphones. They want to sell both their smartphones & earphones to garner more profit.

AnonD-78147, 27 Apr 2016http://cn.lemall.com/le_2/cdla.html translate it in chr... moreIt seems you have no conception about how audio works and hence falling into the CDLA pit. You are all engrossed about a audio transmission technology named CDLA and nothing beyond it. You think as CDLA is digital, hence it is superior to analog. Unfortunately audio does not work like a PC. You least care about what happens to this digital audio signal and how we hear it. So first let me clarify your ears are only capable to receive analog signals. Hence we have tiny speakers or drivers in earphones which being analog in nature needs analog signals to operate. This speakers produce sound waves to which you listen.

Have your ever listened to an audio centric smartphone? The first thing they publish is the analog audio hardware they are using and some objective performance values like SNR, distortion, line level voltage which audiophiles look out rather than a transmission tech like CDLA. The key components than denote the sound quality in smartphones are their in-built DACs, headphone amplifiers and to a large extent the driver units in the earphones. And these are all analog hardware.

The discrete DACs (say ESS SABRE 9018 chip) convert the incoming digital audio signal from the chipset (say Snapdragon 820) to analog signal and as such are ultra critical for ultimate sound quality. LeEco mentions nothing about DACs. So a big question mark here.

Secondly, you don't want you headphones to sound anemic. Hence comes the use of discrete headphone amplifiers in the audio chain like Texas Instuments OP1612 which pumps in more current to the final analog signal through 3.5mm audio jack on which your earphones operates. Op-amps may alters the final sound signature. Hence they are also ultra critical components for sound quality and LeEco mentions nothing about it. So a second big question mark here.

In a HiFi phone using discrete DACs, the digital audio signal exists between the chipset (say Snapdragon 820) and the discrete DAC inside the smartphone. You play loss-less FLAC and you get loss-less digital signal to that DAC inside the smartphone. Nothing special. After the DAC stage however the signal is analog.

Unfortunately LeEco's have no DACs inside their smartphones, rather it is in their LeEco branded earphones which is strange. So the digital signal from CPU somehow needs to be carried to the DAC inside the earphones via usb. After the DAC stage inside the LeEco earphone, signal again becomes analog and goes to its speakers. So I see no innovation in the CDLA tech rather than to have a punchy marketing name.

And to clear your confusion Sony & Fiio are makers of portable hi-res audio players and not DAC chips. They use DACs from renowned audiophile companies like ESS, Burr Brown, Wolfson, Cirrus Logic, AKM, Analog Devices to name a few.

RishiGuru, 27 Apr 2016Loss less audio through usb. What a joke.:) Tell me how... moreCome on get a life man! I'm sure R&D engineers are more intelligent than you for that matter! Mobile business is not a child play to cheat customers by false promises/announcements and get away with it. Once they lose faith of customers, they will never get it back.

When they mean it is lossless, they might have reduced number of conversions from ADC/DAC. (Lesser the number of conversions means lesser the noise introduction) Whatever there in your lossy MP3 file will still drive the speaker as is. And now don't blame device because of lossy MP3 data.
