one last thing to mention and i thanks ur patience .. the problem with the stiff button was not with the fone owner i mean the fone owner after a while will get used to the hard button. but and it happens always with me .., if i give the fone to any person to shot a pic of me or others it always get blurred cuz most of us is used to the smooth true digital cameras button
i know u did this for long time durability but i always give instructions for others when using my fone to shoot :)) i tell them please dont leave ur finger off the camera button untill the foto appears on the screen :D :D
the problem is after pressing when releasing ur finger the fone shakes so not easy for single hand use .
i know ur point about image compression but it sometimes ain't convienient for users to find 12mpx foto with image size 600kb :)))
also please take a look at iso settings when flash off not to high 200 is enough if more u know what u get :))
Here are two landscape fotos of normal user ... using n86 flash off using my both hands to eliminate shakes ... those cars were barely moving == the fone boosted the iso to even above 400

..I tried another couple images with my other phone the direct n8 competetor in 12mpx field the pixon12 .. the pixon12 lowers the iso to 200 when flash on to decrease shakes as u see here

Really thanks for ur time wish u to get my point .. its all for the good am willing to get the n8 as the video continous focus of the pixon12 sucks and u did good to only limit fixed focus in video capturing.

I would say one could this kind of performance from a N8 unit.
Not saying that it wll be a s smooth, but saying that in theory it is absoluterly possible!

i just bought my new canon digital camera and am deeply depressed. i can't believe that n8's photos look more impressive and are more detailed and clear at full crops

sea-breeze, 12 Jul 2010man check the iphone4 price tag and the n8 price tag ! ..... moreWhy i need to check the prize? even with N8 price you can buy very good computer nowdays, but i dont want computer i have very powerfull pc, i want fast phone which works like my fast pc, i hate slow computers i hate slow phones too, so thats why i dont like nokias phones anymore (i had like seven of them), but i hope N8 is going to chance that and can provide the same smoothness and speed with OS than iphone
by the way where i live i think price difference with those two is going to be like round 100-200e I mean do you really think N8 is going to under 400e?

please check the following before releasing t... moreCamera button feels good and has the right amount of resistance at half press and full press but not so it possibly causes camera shake.
There will be no compression artefacts in the images but please don't just look at file sizes to judge such things. I have tested the N8 at JPEG settings from 85 through to 100 and even at 300% the eye can't see any difference between them. It helps to have images with quite low noise too, towhich allows efficient jpeg compression without artefacts.

Going by how they promoted the N86, the N8 should have a great camera.
This should sell reasonably well, but I can imagine a lot of people will be disappointed with the OS.

My opinion is that n8 has fixed the n97 issues with gpu and s3, much more processing power, and has fixed the ugly wide menu bar in landscape mode found at s1

please check the following before releasing the fone we dont wanna be a beta-testers we pay money !
and dont say we will fix that in later firmwares!
Before anything please DONT MAKE STIFF CAMERA BUTTON AS N86 !
1) Check the over all speed of the fone after filling more than half of its memory and after some wi-fi browsing and some calls and some videos and images ... if slow lags sluggish hangs please fix before releasing :))
2) for the camera please dont COMPRESS the photo size to the 1.4 and 1.5MB limit !! its a 12mpx camera images should be around 3 to 3.8MB
by the way my pixon12 average image size at highest resolution at any circumstances never less than 3MB.
3) Check the night fotos without flash and the Auto iso setting nokia always raise it to above 300 so photos always blurr and imposible for hand-held
4) Check the Black color at night and please get sure thats its a PURE BLACK my only nokia fone that captures Black in Black was the N82
5) Check the Noise at night and low light !
6) Check if the video after capture when saving to memory card dont hang the fone !
7) Please let the bluetooth items go straight to the gallery instead of saving them one by one !
8) Check the browser in multiple windows .. will it say OUT of Memory or not !
9) PLEASE PLEASE DONT MAKE stiff Camera BUTTON as the previous N86 !
10) Try to make some nice moves in the main themes so atleast we feel we bought a new nokia fone not an old fone with a new camera and a new suit !
... If u did all of that be sure ur sales gonna hit the sky !

I think nokia has some difficulty task to convience ts customers that s3 is not s1 after the disaster n97.with 434mhz cpu, they deserve this task

Well you dont know anything about how it will run on the finalized version on the phone.

wait til release before you say anything about it. Perhaps they had not started using GPU acceleration.

No device is future proof. And gamemakers really have to try to get their games running on as low speced devices as they possible can, to sell more of the game. And to make it more userfriendly as in the battery wont be drained after half an hour due to the hard CPU load.

Flash 10.1 can take advantage of the GPU. So flash should be running fine on a N8, when the N8 version is released for real... (not the beta-build)

But the direction nokia seems to be taking with it is still the conservetive line. No flashy effects, kind on hardware, kind on battery. And that configuration does not fit high level smartphones today. Sure, you can get themes, and front end applications to make it look good, but then you strain the hardware. And then you perhaps would have wanted some higher specs. But then you would have to sacrifice other things. Especially since nokia have not trimmed that configuration for the units.
But Symbian will evovle in to a OS that will fit below MeeGo, right now there is kind of a gap.
