Hey the Samsung wave has only 5mp camera but the pictures are amazing they are better than the 12mp satio. which I owed for two weeks, I can remember my n82 had amazing pics too but wave is better also wave is faster and super smooth and amazing for games. The battery also lasts for over two days with heavy usage.

Guys guys guys....
IT IS AN N8 in the foto...even i though for a while that it wasnt and tht Mr. Damian was messing with us...
Just do as I say...
1. Download the foto. Do not zoom in on it directly from the site.
2. When you zoom in on the ball, u will notice a small yellow spot, a little below the Tip of the fotographer's index finger. At first sight, it feels like a dual LED unit.
3. When u find tht yellow spot, it is the Xenon flash....dont question how, it's distorted.
4. Now since u can see the Xenon, again look a little below it. You can VERY VERY VERY clearly see the N8's lens. Believe me. If you dont see it zoom as much as you can. Keep zooming till you find it.
5. Now more than half of the proof lies in front of you, BUT THERE'S MORE. When u find the xenon and the lens, you will notice one more thing, the thing that this iphone fanboy is calling a large lens is actually the black rim that runs around the camera unit. I m talking about the elevated back portion of N8. U can see even that when u find the lens and the flash.
Believe me, if you are able to figure all these out, you will very clearly see the blue N8 unit that the guy's holding. And remember, keep zooming cause it is very very small.
Do reply if you figure it out, then we can kick these ifanboys out.

Emerson, 11 Jul 2010A beta game running on a beta phone, and you're saying that... moreI Saw week ago the final version of that game and it runs with latest n8 OS version and it was that slow too, so nothing changed about 2-3 months, so its not looking very good. They need to do a lot of work to get it running smoothly. I think its not happening, it just can't run with that hardware, but we get answer maybe after two months

Not to mention that the game will run just fine because of the work in synergy being done by the CPU and GPU.

We don't play games on our phones, we have more important things to do with our time and better use for our phones.
We are not 10 year old boys, teenage girls or women with chihuahuas. The day i buy a phone casue it can play games i will shoot myself or spend all my saved money to go buy myself i life.

Anonymous, 11 Jul 2010Nokia has always kinda been the ones that thinks about unde... more"As for now, there is absolutely no reason to have 1Ghz processors on mobile phones. There are no apps or games yet developed to use more than 600Mhz"
You are so wrong, there's lot of heavy games, maybe they arent for nokia phones, because no-one like to do anything for them because they are slow.
I think N8 should atleast run the game what has been development for N8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgh6UAvEemc
do you really think this running smoothly? cmon, i really want to see that game with final version N8, i mean that game run with palm pre a lot better and its also very old but it uses the faster ARM8 nokia using the old ARM11
I think nfs shift is coming to n8 too? i think it's going to be problem too :) Hard to think it's going to go smooth.
I saw rally masters with n8, it runs good but why they had removed sky's and other goodies for that game? i know the reason, it just can't handle the game with all the goodies :) its the same if you use slower computer you take some goodies off to get smooth playing experience
And dont you think it has to handle the future too? or are you bying new phone maybe christmas when you realize it cant handle everything very good
n8 hardware power is going to be problem trust me, maybe not for everyone, i dont understand why buy slow phone if you can buy fast phone even if you think you dont need all the power today it's nice to know it can handle the heavier stuff and maybe coming soon stuffs too without buying a new phone
Flash need a raw hardware power too, even the fastest phones has difficulties to handle it

u say i know where u comin from ?!! so whats wr... moreWhere you're coming from is a expression. meaning that I can see your point.
There are distortions of most objects mirrored in that sphere. And the surface does not seem to be perfecet. So it could very well be an optical illusion. If you zoom in beyond the resolution, its not that clear that it would be a lens. Im not saying for sure that it is the N8 that has taken that picture. All Im saying is that the so called proof of it not being the N8 is inconclusive.
But that round thing you see at at the wrong location, is in the case of this being the N8, the opcital illusion, please look more carefully! you really cant be sure its a camera lens att all.
And that is what Im saying. You have a flare, somekind of reflection from something else, or a crack in the sphere or something. That just make it somewhat look like a lens.
But if it is a lens, then that is not the N8. But you really cant be sure it is a lens, the picture is not clear enough and when you zoom in, you dont see a full circle, just a half circle, and the rest of the images is too smudged to tell anything really.
Omnia HD and Satio didnt really have run out of memory problems... they had a lot of other problems. and they both used 256MB RAM. And considering how well and fast symbian s60 3rd edition run on devices with less processing power and less ram. Its not really the Symbian OS that is the problem.
So it could run well in this device. But youre right, you should wait for user reports to start coming in.
about the N86, I never fell for that LED thing. I dont know why Nokia did that move with that phone. But about it performing so bad, I would say you should send it to a nokia repairshop to have them flash the device and reinstall the OS. Updates dont do it. An update just replaces some lines of code, its not the same as reinstalling the OS. There can be errors slipped in the OS code from the install of your device in the factory. You could try to do a hard factory reset before you send it in. Someimes when you install things and remove them, they are not completely removed. Back up your device. Then turn it of. Hold greeen button, * and 3 while pressing the powerkey. Hold for a coulpe of seconds. if you have to select your city, and everything is reset, then youve succeeded, but that does nothing if there is an error on the print of your OS copy.
Symbian is meant to be a basic smartphone OS. Not a flashy competitor to iOS and Android.
You can rearrange icons. You can download themes. And for the touchscreen versions, you can even download software like SPB mobile shell, that gives you an interface like Sense/touchflo for HTC phones.
You can have another task manager.
Symbian supports many operations. Like bluetooth file tranfer, sms delivery reports, and so on. Has had support for millions of colours for displays for a while. So its pretty competent for an old OS.
MeeGo is the next step for nokia, its a bit flashy, but its also something as unique as a full computer OS that runs on a phone.
Symbian will over time be given a different look as well, with symbian^4 and after. but right now you could say that for the more basic smartphones you have symbian, and for the advanced you will have MeeGo, but android would kind of end up in the middle, so there will be somewhat of a gap in Nokias OS portfolio, until later versions of symbian.
But letting go of symbian, I dont see a reasom for that. the problem is nothing like the legacy code in windows.
