no name, 04 May 2016pathetic... my old 4s iPhone could get latest but my newer ... moreActually, iphone 4s is 4 years old and motoG 2nd is 2 years old. In any case, you can't compare that only has 1 phone per year against hundreds of phones to develop for. If that was the case, you should only compare iphone ios updates against updates on google nexus phones since those are the ones promoted by google itself.

Muthu, 04 May 2016You took the wrong category (PC) to make a comparison. Andr... moreWhy should I expect less on smartphones? They are computers as well.
Windows 8 is still fully patched and supported by Microsoft so yeah, if I don't want to upgrade to Windows 10, it's fine, but I still get updates.
Meanwhile, we have new smartphones that are running old OS and not even following Google monthly security patches.
Whatever, I guess you like paying money for smartphones to be like dumb phones. Companies will love you since you like to keep buying unsupported phones.

It's a shame to be honest that 6.0 is so low and that we're already talking about Android N.

Anyways, patiently waiting for 6.0 on my Note 4 on T-Mo or Note 6 with N

no name, 04 May 2016pathetic... my old 4s iPhone could get latest but my newer ... moreif you are so demanding.. You'll have to return to Android. you spent merely 100$ on moto E and then you're comparing it to a phone which costed 600$? even after knowing IPhones get terrible after update!
so for you, Update is more important than your phone working normally?
I myself have an Moto E 2nd gen running on 5.1.1 and I feel thankful to Motorola for providing that update! Making a new firmware takes a lot of Time and money, and the company who earns absolutely nothing with the low margin they keep on their phones, how are you expecting them to spend huge bucks on making new firmware for your device? Talk sensible

no name, 04 May 2016pathetic... my old 4s iPhone could get latest but my newer ... moreThat's an unfair comparison, because of two reasons: 1), costs and 2), an iPhone gets worse with every new update.

no name, 04 May 2016pathetic... my old 4s iPhone could get latest but my newer ... moreHaving the latest OS is not so important if the old one works fine. Yes, it's good to have the option to progress, but for instance an old iPhone with a new iOS (often) is a pathetic combination. In other words, you can browse your Samsung tablet waiting for your iPhone to load the list of contacts ;-)

WTFDYS, 04 May 2016You cannot blame Google for this problem. This all lies on ... moreGoogle did not build a proper hardware abstraction layer in android, right from the start (like android 1.0). Android 5 was the first one to get a Bluetooth driver. Yes Bluetooth driver. Apart from nexus series or android one, google does not officially support any of the periferal hardware. All this work is done by manufacturers. Now these people don't want to waist money by supporting old devices. This created this full problem.

You must do some research, or, better shut your mouth.

Google is the main defaulter here. Because it doesn't develop android properly at all.

Muthu, 04 May 2016What's wrong with that, as long as win xp suits his needs? ... moreThe problem isn't that someone uses xp. Problem is, someone ,who has xp, thinks he represents all the windows users and knows their needs.

                                        When someone decides instead you.

                                        Thats the problem.

If someone don't need updates ,I do. I like new features, new functional, security patches and many other goodies updates bring. Often I install beta versions of programs instead stable. I like to try new stuff. What's wrong?
