It wasn't too long ago that LG boasted of how fast their V10's first-to-market "SanDisk EPIC Certified" storage was.
I just Googled around little. The V10 is using the same part as the HTC (the iNAND 7232).

Just ordered this phone today, really disappointed I hadn't seen mention of this before anywhere. I currently have 32GB on msd card and it has significantly slowed my one M8, I decided to got 10 instead of s7 edge for two reasons : less likely to break not stupid glass on the back and raw speed (less bloatware). I was really hoping the HTC 10 would excel in speed after being loaded up with files especially since the msd card could be used as regular storage. I was going to buy a fast msd card but maybe it wont achieve the speeds rated.

That kind of speed will only benefit internal system performance, it won`t make a difference copying files to PC as even the 10`s random read saturates the bandwidth offered by a USB 2.0 connection/micro b port, hence even if the internal memory on the S7 was ten times faster, files would still copy through micro-b at the same speed. Perhaps the USB 3.1 sporting G5 will be faster, but otherwise that`s a very strange point to make. Still wish HTC would adopt the newest standards though.

"The time that it took to transfer sample photos from HTC 10 to our PC definitely felt much slower than transferring photos from the LG G5 or the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge."
But HTC 10 write speed is faster than SGS7? Why?

Damn that's bad, especially random read is what matters the most. I hope that you don't notice this too much when using the phone because I really wanted to get it.

Well...they had to cut the corners somewhere. Everyone does it. Average daily user won't see the difference anyway, so this information is probably only useful for all those benchmarks loving people.

We wouldn’t want our readers to get the wrong message..... then, what is the purpose of this test! only saying that in terms of number, Samsung rules? OMG, it is meaningless. You know how this affect the true comment of a handset. Don't do such meaningless test again

Akinaro, 05 May 2016It's not about destroying it. It's just overhyped device. A... moreI feel on the continuum of hyped devices, the HTC 10 would be below the current flagships from Apple, Samsung, and LG. It might be slightly more hyped than the Sony X Performance.
I don't know why everyone keeps saying it's so overhyped. The number of HTC fanboys/girls cannot even compare to Samsung or Apple. The marketing budget for HTC is far below Samsung, LG, and Apple. So where is the dreaded HTC hype machine coming from? Half the reviewers have noted the benefits and disadvantages of the HTC to other phones, with most reviewers saying it compared favorably against the Samsung S7 or below it. Only a few reviewers have said it's better.
Please, tell me where this notion of overhype is coming from?

I don't know about LG but Samsung is only good at numbers. Beside who cares about this benchmark craze? If we know much about tech stuff then what the hell are we doing here? Aren't we suppose to work there as their engineers then?

People are claiming that benchmarking results don't matter even though when HTC One M9+ was released everyone was mad about it having MediaTek chipset instead of SnapDragon.

Martin, 05 May 2016LG G5 good, S7 good, HTC BAD. sorry htc.I think it would rather be, "LG G5 great read/write performance, HTC 10 good write, poor read, Samsung S7 good read, poor write."
The title seems totally off. It scored better than the S7 in write performance. If you wanted to be misleading but accurate, you can say "HTC 10 storage read speeds are below average with other 2016 flagships", leaving out the write performance.
Now it's just misleading AND wrong.
