[deleted post]ya..sorry if you got the wrong msg from my post..what i said was, gsma wrote an article about how htc was going to release lifestyle disquised as htc 10...thankfully htc cleared it all up..
And as such there is a huge partiality towards samsung here in this site..granted, i have my eyes on an s7 edge..the main reasons for which are..
1. i don't have enough faith in asus anymore after using 2 of their flagship(admittedly both of them together cost me less than a s6 edge) since one had a fried up usb port(oh, and intel wants usb to be the only port on a phone..goody goody) and the zenfone 2 is showing ghost touches(asus forums are overloaded with these)
2. i liked lg g4 better than g5(hmm wierd)..and i would rather get the latest gen since i'm currently off budget
3.not an iphone fan..dad had it, used it, didn't like its closed interface
4. sony which i love, cracks easily..maybe they should research into eggshells..seeing they are more tough...
however.. my bro's g4 is ruuning without a prob..whereas my dad's note 5 is losing contacts at random..(check forums)..my friend just changed over to an htc 10 after his s6 edge broke from a single fall(imean, come on..its a curved screen..technically shouldn't it be tougher)
partiality from gsma is really strange..on the z1-z3 the metal frame and glass was an uninspired design, but when samsung brought it out suddenly its a sleek slab of metal and glass
what gsma should do is stop doing these unpack reviews and "standardised endurance tests" and do some real life testing...give a preliminary review followed by a review after 2 weeks of exclusive use...i remember seeing some in the old gsma site..those were the main reasons why i started coming here

HTC should immediately fire their marketing/campaign managers and hire a new team.

I'll tag along with the misleading title. And I don't think it's omission on your side GSMA, it's just a bad journalism, trying to steer people's opinions (which every media does these days). But then again, if someone just read the titles and throw comments left and right, that's another flaw in the equation. Anyway...it's not surprising to see HTC10 Lifestyle doing bad. It's a late phone, with a too high price for what it is. Besides, this is a problem for many companies these days. When you release your device later than the rest of the pack, you have to attract the customers somehow. They are not dedicated fans anymore, they're not waiting for your phone, and they will likely pick up a device from competition, before you release yours. That's how the market works these days. The only companies, that still have their dedicated fan base is Samsung and Apple. The rest are people, like me, who will browse the market every year or two, and pick the devices suitable for them at the time, regardless the brand.

The Chinese market would rather go for phones that give them bang for the buck ( xiaomi, huawei), or for phones that give them a social status ( apple, Samsung) , not that HTC isn't one, but htc is been off lately

Perfect. A failed strategy by making two version. Stop trying to be Samsung. You can't never succeed with two version. Just make one is enough. Stupid HTC.

Why don't you just mention in the headline that it is the HTC 10 Lifestyle which isn't doing very well in China? Why someone has to reach the 4th paragraph of the article, out of 5 in total, in order to realise that it isn't the standard HTC 10 model which isn't selling very well in China but an under powered version of it? Not to mention the people who will just browse the headlines reaching false conclusions. Do you consider yourselves to be serious tech journalists?

[deleted post]well according to a previous post here in gsma, htc is relaesing htc 10 lifestyle as "htc 10" in some markets...(hmm..)there were speculations that they would do this in india. china won't be swayed by these specs when they can buy 2 or 3 of their local phones(one may break..so what you got money left to buy 2 more) at this same price with sd820 or similar. then there is this ridiculous pricing of these multinational companies..thry sell devices at around 300 to 400% margin...as of now the three flagships to buy are iphone(6 is my fav), note 5, and lg g4/5. there are a lot of consumer(like me) who wait for a flagship to become 2nd gen before buying them
