Maybe the "Leica" brand name alone will cost another $100

Its probably just the lens different from P9, that had a flagship Leica lens Pocketnow called best in the business. This is probably same hardware but a cheaper lens.

Very good, I believe its first for Huawei to make a 5.7" one...

This is mich better than mate8 if the camera is the aame as p9... Mate8 still has abshitty one...
Not to say that p9 is good at video...

They should make something with a smaller size like honor7... What does v stand for in v8?

Huawei is gettong close... I wont buy another huawei untill they stop being greedy on gpu and untill they fix the camera video...

Hopefully that V8 engine can power the QHD screen.

I am a fan of Huawei, have been since the P1 and D1.
I have always liked their viewpoint, much the same as Motorola's, in that having the best chipset and highest res screen does not make a flagship. They have gone for usability and affordability.
This doesn't look as good as the P9/plus and I do not think a qHD screen is necessary at 5.7" but it's more so than phones with 5" screens. I would go for the fHD version and have a longer lasting battery every time.
If this is priced as it states then it will be a very tough call to make between this and the P9 - which could be a mistake on their part. For reference I'm in the UK where the P9 is sim free at £369. Of course, this might not make it here which will solve a lot of problems.

I'm impressed with Kirin 950 system & memory perf. Mostly with overall efficiency. Is it the big fix on overhead and controller?

As for the GPU, Huawei doesn't want to brawl with Adreno & MaliT880 mp12. They decided to just be there and settled for mp4. QHD might be questionable but they know what they are doing more than us. And they even put a safety-FHD variant 'just in case'.

Removal of Leica branding probably won't affect the camera aspect. Leica didn't even touch the cameras and just gave a thumbs-up that it met their quality requirement/s. They might be avoiding brand cost approval.

I hope the absence of the Leica branding doesn't mean twin potato cameras (not that they were stellar when it was present though).
