This is a mid ranger phone that will be taking better pcitures than the s7 and other flagships. Let that sink in for a moment. What other mid ranger can do that.
Not to mention REAL INNOVATIon like predictive autofocus and qnovo battery technology that will make your phone last longer.
yeah, actuall useful features that when all packed together is groundbreaking.
Not to mention that selfie13mp will probably take better pictures than the iphones main camera LOLLOL

But I also believe A9 price was dropped once it came out...
Samsung phones get price drops rather quickly.
Either way, its useless to compare prices of new arrivals and phones already out there with prices dropped.
X is expensive, but a realy good phone
X performance price is about right, but yes...Sony takes too loong to enter market.
We wouldn even be discussing these prices if it was released, say, 2 months ago

These blind Sony fanboys annoy me.The phone is too damn overpriced. 350-400€ is the maximum acceptable price range for this phone .Speculations aside ,we'll have to wait for the reviews when the phone is out. It's got a good camera and a decent SOC.we'll have to see how battery life fares. But 600€ is UNACCEPTABLE Sony ! You have disappointed me

All mid ranged devices are over priced but the pricing is insane for the xperia x. There is no way around it. Even if the only difference between it and a flagship is the chipset, it is still just too expensive. That's why I'm wondering how on earth they'll price the performance.
Worst part is the performance already made concessions like resolution and and 4k recording so you'd expect it to be cheaper. But at this rate, it'll be priced well above the competition. The s7 launched with 700 Euros, and the x performance will probably be 750 euros at launch when the s7 already dropped to 620 euros.

Who then would buy A9... moreWhy aren't you listening? The a9 doesn't cost 550 euros. Its around 420 euros. And it has a 6" screen and a monster battery with an endurance rating over 100.
The benchmarks show that they're basically the same, because they are the same. Only different is the two extra cores which are clearly reflected in the much higher multicore tests.

That's not an excuse for the phone to be more expensive. At the moment, you can get a galaxy s7 for 620 euros, and Sony is releasing a midrange phone for 600 euros. That is a fact.
And how did you determine the a9 to be worse exactly? The a9 has a superior chipset.

In South Africa, the asking price is at least R10200 for the Xperia X, (R11200 for the 64gb variant). That is just insane. Much better to go for a similar priced and better performing phone like the S7, G5 or even a 6P, even take the older Moto X Force (R8900).
