AnonD-482637, 14 May 20162.8 aperture ? So dark :(I know f2.8 sounds dark, talking about my own Yicamera, but it doesn't matter much in videos, because of 3 reasons:-
1. Firstly, the shutter speed required in a typical video is still 1/30 or 1/60 which is enough for most day to evening scenes.
2. For night scenes, ISO gladly goes up to a certain limit, but the added noise doesn't always reflect in the vids, because vids are of lower resolution than the sensor.
For example, a 1080p video is of 2 Megapixels, while the sensor is of 16 MP. So, the downsizing from 16 to 2 MP, removes most of the noise or dulls it...
3. Its a Sony sensor, these are the best in the world due to their cell isolation and other technologies, I'm told.
I also expect this 4K model to have a 12 MP sony sensor, but with bigger pixels, so it will be better for the dark.

No image stabilization for the Yi camera, I wish i had invested in a GoPro. Sportes videos end up all shaky

Guys, I'll be brutally honest with you.
I have a YiCamera, the existing one, and although slightly inferior, its very very close to the GoPRo top model, in about 1/6th of its price! Yes, 1/6th of the price...!
But with a hardware this solid, YiCamera 4K WILL KILL THE GO PRO.
I know its not launched but I have all the reasons to believe GoPro should be worried...
However, the mentioned price of 1199 yuan means it will be priced very eye wateringly steep, because it will increase a lot by the time it enters foreign countries.... And that will ensure that GoPro will have its takers anyhow. For the brand and all.
