If only it could have been installed on the D900(i), so many broken screens with that mobile, maybe that is where the idea came from.

Not that Samsung ever claimed the phone was a design fault(maybe that's where SJ got his idea from too..blame everyone else)

Yeah the AMOLED may be indestructable however I'm picking the circuitry underneath snaps like a twig. Notice how they kept that out of the way? Impressive demo all the same.

why would you need unless you have a flexible phone if its a normal phone and you hit it with a hammer the screen might not break but the other stuff inside it will.

they could make displays that can be folded i guess but thats a bit far fetched

Tehc Freshie, 22 Jul 2010GREAT WORK to let us glimpse at it~! However, it was not al... moreMany manufacturer are reluctant to plunge in huge amount of money into such new technology, as you can see, samsung has dominated the OLED, now AMOLED market with 90% market share. I read in an article before, LG did research on such technology but they are not committed to such new technology, but instead focus on improving LCD while Samsung on the other hand, plunge in huge amount of money on OLED and AMOLED. It is obvious why samsung is the only manufacturer that could produce expand oled production as they hold most of the patents. Look at the AMLED display shortage, many know its a huge potential market, but as they are late comer to such, they would either have to research more or purchase the patents from samsung, which would not come cheap, and therefore their production cost will not be cheap.

That is it i know about AMOLED.
