Yap, many brands have concept regarding such screen. the issue is not who came out with it first, it is who materialise with is first, meaning to have successfully researched and developed these type of screen for mass production. Apparently only Samsung has the financial capability and technology know how to do it first.

GREAT WORK to let us glimpse at it~! However, it was not all by Samsung. LG Philips R&D spent years on this tech long ago if my memory was not wrong.. Their ultimate aim is to create a screen which is so flexible you could just cover a wall with it and "whooila" there's the infinite display. And yes, thin as a piece of cloth.

to people saying the videos old, yes it is i saw it month ago even searching for the song in the back (AMOLED song, youtube it)

but the reason behind the article is that Samsung has now stated that it will now mass produce these, the concepts have been around for years by sony, samsung etc..

but its going to come to the market now, samething with LED and 3D tv's we heard about them, saw prototypes long before they appeared in stores

The song is a promo paid (and tailor made) by Samsung, as they do with all their new technologies, the YP-T8 had its own Korean music video, as do the new Korean-only MB1 series. And as you may have noticed, the song emphasises about AMOLED. Considering their rather deep-ended pockets, Samsung is able to pay rather well-known artists for custom-made songs (or some unknown ones too who quickly become well-known because of contracts like these with Samsung). And trust me, as a Korean I have seen the utter lengths Samsung, LG, SKT, KT, what-have-you, go to to contract out famous people to promote their latest and greatest.

I have, as some others, noticed the 'hitting-power' bias towards the AMOLED and the usual LCD. Would have like to have seen the AMOLED hit a bit harder...

I've researched flexible technology (LCDs like above, and even cheap and reliable flexible solar cells) and technology like the screen above is definitely within 5 years. Well, with technology like this you are looking at completely different form-factored devices in 5 years, you can have my word there.

This is Amazing! barely touching a naked lcd display with some pressure can kill it but this is even hammered and still its display is ok.. combined with a flexible circuit board they can already make a flexible touch screen phone!
