its plastic no metal / no ir / no sd652 .... am sure few more sensors are missing... is it better than redmi note 3? disappointed... I would buy it for rupees:
7999 last price for 2/32 or
8999 for 3/64 or
9999 for 4/128... as is the current specs...

Even the higher end Moto X Play 2nd generation is going to use SD 625 which is still less powerful than SD 650. There is no way a phone with lesser price tag (G4/Plus) will have a better SoC than a higher priced phone (X Play 2nd gen). I am unable to understand why people complain about this SoC part at all. If anything, the complaints should be about screen size, as many people have pointed out.

I didn't buy the redmi note 3 because it didn't have water proofing.. was waiting for the Moto g4, hoping it will be water proof... but now the redmi note 3 seems like a much better deal.. really disappointed at Motorola/lenovo

Moto G Play - what is that? Next iteration in E lineup, named as G Play? Slightly inferior version of Moto G3, for what when G3 is available at right price anyway? God only knows.
Moto G4 & Plus - Why 5.5 inches with FHD display? What is the purpose of Moto X Play successor then? Why SD 617 with Adreno 405 which is clearly inadequate for FHD display? Why not SD 800 OR SD 801 OR SD 625 with FHD?
Better still why not SD 430 with 5 inch 720p display?

Along with the name goes Motorola's design language and in comes lenovo's.why fix something that's not broken?
Also that's the worst looking fingerprint scanner that's ever graced a smartphone's front.

Brilliant device as always.
But why they are not giving capacitive back button.?? They are eating up display unnecessarily and as well they are utilizing the place the sides of front finger print sensor.

650 can be declared as a 808 successor, so you can imagine their potential. Do you really expect this level of performance in a 13k priced phone?
If moto added a 650 or 652 price would only jump up like anything.

I know Motorola added fingerprint readers first in the world. But at that time it wasnt relevant.
Most flagships of last year had the fingerprint readers, while last year's moto x style didnt even have one. You cant say they are the leaders

Why people are cribbing about SD 650/652. You know it has 617 & this is official. So stop complaining.. Because it will not change anything.
If you are so desperate then look for other devices in gsmarena.
Definitely this device is hit in India and it will sell in good numbers.

i hate the name change...i had moto g1 and moto g2 i love motorola but not lenovo.... moto g4 would have sounded better...lenovo moto g4...??? are u kidding me...its not catchy...not even close...jus my opinion ...no offence guys...and the worst part is...water resistance is gone....I'm not gonna buy this fa sure :/

They really messed up with pricing in Brazil:
- R$ 1299 G4 ( 371 US Dollars)
- R$ 1499 G4 Plus ( 428 US Dollars)
Until a couple of weeks ago, the Dual-SIM 3rd gen with 2GB RAM was 260 US Dollars in Brazil
