Anonymous, 20 May 2016You don't have a priv, if so you would know it's USP. You d... moreIf you talk about BB's "unique selling propositions" in general, well, it's not perceivable for me.

To me, my whole 3-year BB10 experience was rather painful than pleasant. Poor product ergonomics, workarounds, awful desktop client, compromises with apps which are 1.) nonexistent, 2.) in the Droid sandbox either slow, don't start and/or stop.

Yes the OS itself is great, fluid and generally a pleasantly optimized. But I never use a PKB, so one selling point less from BB for me. Hub? OK, good. I like it. Gonna install it on my Xiaomi - even when the Droid hub is clear worse than the BB10 one.

I'm not an emotional guy; as they are just products. I'm unable to perceive "brands". Good is good, no matter which imaginative/inventive art is printed on the box, and s#itty is s#itty, no matter what mighty manufacturer produced it. Why would I say that my Pearl was great? It was a clumsy little thing. Why would I say that my Z10 was great? It needed a thick, 4500mAh battery, because the original one was dead flat in the afternoon. Its build quality (made in Canada, not in Hungary, or Mexico) was/is subpar in comparison to the Xiaomi. Z30? With its loose, cheap buttons? OK, its loudspeakers were really something. Yeah, the Passport's build quality was as vault-like as it should. And you're right, I don't have a Priv. Because it's flimsy, clicky, hollow. Yes, I'm sure there are perfect examples somewhere. But did I mention I hate workarounds? Workarounds to ensure that the screen is not clicky? Or do I have to bend the phone to ensure that the slider mechanism doesn't have play?

I feel sorry for people who need a slider, just to get noticed in the faceless crowd. I buy a product for myself.
I leave the fanboi-ism to those who are not interested in optimal solutions for their own NEEDS and not their emotional attachments.

So, USP? Which? What makes it unique? Does the Priv have good display? So do others. Does it have a good camera? Others are even better. Does anyone KNOW (not perceive) that BB's secure approach is objectively better than Knox or Xiaomi's encryption on the Droid platform? The Xiaomi has a DTEK-like feature too. PKB? I don't use/like it. Productivity? Other platforms evolved a lot, so they can be just as productive as BB. Yes, the virtual keyboard is first rate, but not better or quicker for me, because in my first language, I have to use ÉÁŐÓÜÖŰÍ, so it's slow, no matter what. And we still talking about a "flagship" with mediocre specs, but true flagship pricing.
And this upcoming model has truly outdated specs to be a great midrange phone in the targeted price segment. If BB takes the unimaginable route; pricing this Hamburg below 200 bucks, I will applaud them - and maybe I'm gonna try the phone. But for 400-something, I'd choose a deca-core, 6/128Gb true flagship - still not caring for the imaginative/inventive art - called branding - printed on the box.

No preconceptions, just pieces. Products, not self-projections. Performance, not perceptions. And no couch warriors who telepathically can decide from afar what phones I own...

Anonymous, 20 May 2016Lol BlackBerry priv 3410 Mah (battery) and SD 808 + 3 gigs ... moreWhen we count in that the most powerful phone battery today is 10.000mAh, the most powerful SoC has 10 cores, and the strongest contender has 6Gb of RAM AND 128Gb ROM.

According to these; yes, the Priv has laughable specs. And pathethic, embarrassingly pitiful pricing.

The Priv would have been good with a $399 starting price. The "Hamburg" (Prod??? - if we want especially silly names...) should start at the $150-190 bracket! Don't forget, that it will be available at the end of the year, so the train won't slow...

Blackberry is mistaken, because the brand doesn't have aces any more. They gave up their well-optimized, secure platform, thinking that Android will be their savior. Yet the Priv sold FAR WORSE than any BB10 phone before it. The programming is perfect: overpriced mediocrity WON'T sell. That simple. Blackberry has to find its face in the sea of Android me-too-me-too handsets. Most customers are NOT interested in security, and Android can be secured to a certain point only. So that's not BB's forte any more. Ergo, BB can't dictate any more, because the brand itself lost its meaning. With 0.X% market share you are NOT in the position to set target prices like when you still ruled the world. Those times are GONE.

BB needs major regrouping, a fundamentally new identity, which is credible enough to convince customers. Chen on a firing spree, couldn't comprehend that he removed the essence of BB, and without that essence, the brand got over-diluted.

Yes, I'm using a BB. Yes, I bought a Xiaomi too. Yes, I'm embarrassed, because the raw quality of the Xiaomi RN3P is astonishing and simply not comparable with BB.

Anonymous, 19 May 2016i bet price will be $600The 615 could have been plenty of power on this if BB used BB OS. On another note, $600 seems to be an exaggeration. More likely they'll price this midrange of a phone nearly equivalent to the cheapest flagship donning an S820. And I'd rather choose those even if made by a Chinese company over this pretend hunk

when u see the mobile market they are three types of consumers
                            1. highhanded consumer

blackberry only belong to the first and these people rarely buy phones but when they beginning to come a bit down to the second or third consumer their market will rise bcos that was what other crawling company are doing to stabilize their index

I really don't see what an all touch android device from BlackBerry has to offer that differs to what's already on the market.

What annoys me about my priv is the lack of a BlackBerry file manager and a BlackBerry browser,as far as I am concerned all ios and android devices have the same problem.

Other than that I find the priv to be superior to other ios and android devices on the market , anybody who sees me use it in the workplace agrees.

The rome which will have a capacitive qwerty and is much taller than legacy BlackBerry's is something different to the norm while also providing instant access to qwerty navigation and keyboard shortcuts. Hurry up with the rome please.
