I am in Kuwait and my friend has an unlocked iPhone 4 that he bought from France. He is not even aware of such a fault. I took the iPhone 4 and held it by blocking the antenna completely and the signal did not drop even the smallest bit. My friend said that blocking the antenna and holding the iPhone in a certain angle sometimes loses one line of signal power.

its like driving a car..
when you go to a driving school..they would tell you the right way to handle the steering wheel....
but it doesnt mean that you cant hold it any other way w/o affecting your driving capabilities... right?? get me???
but your iphone4.. you cant hold it anyway you want...
so much for a state of the art mobile phone device..isnt it??
if it is what is says.."a break through" 'state of the art" you can, you will be able to hold it in any possible way...right???

Very small % cannot manage this task. So run to the media for help.
Apple don't baby there customers,if you can't bothered to do a simple request ,as the song says "don't buy the i-phone'
Apple didn't force those 99.55% of 3 million to buy it, they are happily adapting to this exciting technology.

So a non issue right.
Just poorly skilled people i guess can keep touching that area when there is no need too.
Same as don't touch the wheels when your bike riding, but if poorly skilled you could touch that part and your hand get caught up.

good question other devices lose signal but they don't drop the call on you, man why do we even need to buy something that offers us a high possibility of dropping calls

Most the people are against Apple are mainly in fear.
Steve Jobs is very nice, just because your CEO don't give free stuff right.
Basically a small % can't follow basic holding skills, so to keep everyone happy we get nice surprise of free cases.
Try and name 14 people without a case, everyone has them, just becasue
its very kool as apple said.
I thought the conference was going to be about the iphone 4g,
Very suprised the others were having antenna problems was what i got from it.

[deleted post]People has caught up with the way nokia does business. They impress the users on paper, but cannot deliver the goods. That's BS. The first two iPhones offered less specs on paper, but delivered smooth operation. iPhone 3GS was even more impressive both in it's spec list and performance. Now the iphone4 excelled in all aspects, from spec sheet to performance. While nokia releases pretty much the same stuff over and over again. No innovation. No advancement. Very little improvements. With a failed nokia music store and ovi store. And declining market and capital share.
The A4 chip is a not just a typical processor. It's a SoC unique to the iPad and the iphone4.
The ip4 sold over 3 million units from the day it was released. By now, it probably already sold over 4 million. It will be released to more countries this Friday. Meaning, the numbers will even go higher. And, that is despite all the negative attacks on the iphone4. Still it manages to sell really well.
Don't complicate things. The ip4 has one weak spot. Whether you touch or grip it, it would degrade signal when you are in an area with a weak reception. Antennagate does not happen in areas where there's strong reception. And, this issue is totally remedied with a case.
Internet tablets are Internet tablets. They are not full fledged computers like desktop computers and laptops are, although they have computing capabilities, but limited compared to laptops and desktop computers. A little common sense would help you.
Surfing the web via the iPad is faster than on a laptop. Zooming on web pages, opening links, switching from one web page to another, etc. Is much faster. Not to mention that you can turn the screen on and off in less than a second. Battery life is also longer on the iPad. If you need to check something online real quick, you can do it on the iPad in less than a minute. You can't with a laptop.
Since I've had my iPad, I probably open my laptop every other week. I used to open my laptop every day. That's how the iPad changed my routine.

so if someone overclocked the N900 to 850mhz - 950mhz
and installed ubuntu which is available
the and the USB on the go is added the you can
N900 from last a few months of release already had BT keyboard and Mouse support just like the N8 does
so it's already possible that the N900 can virtually do almost everything and anything
that a netbook can do

- it turns off and on much faster than a laptop.
- it's more manageable
- has tons of apps for your different needs
- movies look good on the iPad
- reading books is a joy on the iPad
- battery life is longer than a laptop
- surfing the web is so much fun on the iPad than a laptop
- checking and reply to emails is a breeze on the iPad
And there's more. Still, it's not meant to replace a laptop or a desktop computer. But more of a convenient device for things you need to do quickly without having to open your laptop. So you are wrong to pit it to against laptop or computer.
