Again, you people just don't understand economics. iPhone is not technically the best. Agreed. Why? Because the mass population would not need such "advance" features in other phones. The average people likes simple interfaces, easy to understand and READ menus, and most important, lots and lots of customization ability, easily. This is what no other company but Apple has done. Why cater to 20% of the population when you can cater to 80%? Would you rather make $2 or $8 doing the same work? I'm pretty sure a lot of Symbian app developers jump to doing iPhone apps because there are more money involved.
Also, with only one similar hardware and OS, resources are more focused. Rather then developing a software that needs to be tested on multiple different hardware, different interface, and completely differently types of phones (budget, multimedia, business), all the resources of iPhone developers can apply all that energy to creating a better application.
Android is trying... but I have played with some android phones... they're just not as fluid and smooth as the iOS. One thing I notice is that Apple is really concerned on balancing function and battery life. Friend always complaining his Nexus runs out of juice everyday with simple usage (he don't even play games).
Antenna problem? Use a piece of clear packing tape (cut to size of course), not magic tape. Nearly invisible. Nobody is perfect. Not even Nokia, SE, HTC, none.

and A... moreIt's not a joke. Read what I said before - Apple had terrible times during the 90's while Steve Jobs was working at NeXT.
He left Apple to work at NeXT. Without his leadership Apple were 90 days away from bankruptcy and closing down. Apple made so many major mistakes back then. You wouldn't know this because you don't really know much about Apple, it's history or it's business.
Then in the late 90's Apple bought NeXT and Steve Jobs came back as CEO of the whole company. The best idea Apple had in the 90's. It then took Steve Jobs 13 years to make Apple the number 1 computer/technology company in the world.
Doesn't matter if it's hardware, software or online Music & Film stores. Nobody cares about it just being software.

i am impressed with Win7 since they took some aspects of linux
but OSX is garbage
it's only solid if your computer noob and get suckered by apple in to spending 4000 on a laptop or desktop
what can cost 900 - 1000 if you make it yourself
plus WTH can you really run on OSX........

But then they dumped them for next to nothing about 5 years too early. What were they thinking? Look at how big Apple then went onto become and how much the shares later became worth.
And as we've seen this year in 2010 - in Market Capitilization, Apple is now bigger than Microsoft.
$222 billion to Apple vs $219 billion to Microsoft as of May 27, 2010.

The iTunes online store? The App Store?
Professional Software Suites used throughout the music, media and film industry - Aperture, Final Cut Pro, Logic?
Apple makes all of these and has done under the leadership of Steve Jobs. What was Nokia's involvement in any of this?
