It has a noticable improvement in charge cycle before the battery dies out. Sony is the only (IIRC) manufacturer bringing this tech to a smartphone battery. Not even on Samsung, Apple, and the rest of Chinese smartphone companies.
Now, battery endurance is one of Sony's trademarks until Xperia Z3. You would question yourself why its battery endurance lessens from z3+(z4) up to z5. Not that it's enough but it's not up to the expectations. Which is why I answered 'it depends'.
But you calling smartphones 'Chinese crap' is a direct contradiction as to what is happening in present mobile world. Even iPhones' majority parts are sourced from China.
I am in no manner of discrediting Sony's features and Japan's tech(as you would say) but I am one of those who disagree that Sony's pricing had eternally gone overboard.

Sony have their best features and Japan's tech, why not you don't want mention it, but try to use some China crap phone to making comparison?

But in reality, the Mi5 isn't as durable as it is in terms of looks. It's so fragile and easy to break that even the 6s is much durable than that, and you should've been aware of that before. Second, I didn't say they put SD801 inside of the phone. What I'm saying is that its performance is not as what I am expecting considering it has SD 820 on it. Third, before you call me a fanboy, know first what you are saying. The Xperia X is no doubt a much better device than this Chinese phone. Yes it has a weaker specs and yet, it manages to rival even the fastest phone in the world (iPhone 6s). Go watch XEETECHCARE's speed test on this phone and come back when you already know what I'm talking about

So you see, Sony keeps on cutting so many corners and reasons that it's enough for usage. Their mid range price competes with other high end which offer more at that price point.
What you failed to see here is the price point.. Not the features which you subjectively vindicated as 'reasonable'

You're clearly a SONY fanboy, Xperia X is a mid-range phone for a premium price but it DOES NOT stack up against the flagships like S7, Mi5, LG G5 or HTC 10

I don't think it has a better camera. It may have a good one, but certainly not enough to compete with flagship phones. Great software? Wow you certainly need to do some research. The Mi5 is so slow especially in Chrome. It's super slow that it almost takes ages before loading the full contents. Yes it has SD820 but it doesn't seem to be. It's more of an 801 processor. You can look at XEETECHCARE's comparison between the Xperia X and iPhone 6s and Galaxy S7. There you will see how well the Xperia X stands up against those massive contenders. Even the speed between the 6s and Xperia X is so damn close, and that is just with thr SD650. So imagine how the X Performance will do with its SD820. And the 6s is still more expensive than the Xperia X. The Xperia X series just proves that specs don't mean everything.

Some of us really do love the SONY brand and we do believe in everything it has to offer, I personally don't mind the prices as I know that it will be worth every cent,im buying the X Perfomance soon as ive saved up enough and im buying it for the full price. To SONY Management, Fix your Sudden Death issue first before shipping any phone to customer. I am a victim of sudden-death problem of SONY's phone. It died and you can't turn it on, even charging it for 2 days, still wont turn on. I Swear I will never buy SONY Products again.

Sony just tell everyone that we expect the smartphone business to drop because we are not producing as much Sony phones due to our unavailability to produce the camera sensor, so its better for us to sell this camera sensor to our competitor and to make money rather than to produce Sony phones that not many will buy.
