Nokia has a top device in the works. Its irrational and illogical to see their releasing new low end smartphones as unseriousness. Parallel production of low end phones won't affect the release date of the n8. What then is wrong in nokia moving to dominate the lowend /midrange segment?
If you don't like a model, move on. There are hundreds of then. You shouldn't expect everyone to suit you or condemn it when it doesn't. Nokia won't be making the phone if it didn't have a market.

Nokia fans are searching for better alternatives. But nokia, they are happy with nHD resolution, 434 mhz processor and symbian^1. It seems to me nokia is capable of introducing high end handsets but they are not willing to do so. Sad part of all these is n8 isnt released yet and lets not talk about meego. I want to upgrade my nokia handset. Can you suggest true succesor for n97 for me now?

[deleted post]Yes, cheap cellphones sells like hot cakes in developing countries. Thanks to Nokia. Apart from Nokia, its only Samsung selling low end touch phones in Indian market but they are just java based feature phones. Symbian smartphone at 100 euros is a real deal.

Hey guys, a touch phone with cool look and all contemporary features for just 100 Euro must be a steal. All the college going crowd can buy them easily. And BTW, Symbian 5th edition is not a bad OS. Much better than most of the Mobile OSs available. If you guys are only talking about look and feel there are about a million themes to change the way the UI looks.

100 Euro smartphone.. its already there from none other than Nokia. 5233 costs around 6200 Indian Rs in India (approx 101 Euro)
