Xiaomi was doing ok with or without Office pre installed. I don't think using office is a hot commodity on a smart phone.

I was talking about MS products in ALL mobile platforms (be it desktop or phone).
Given that Windows 10 and the new Office products for both desktop and phones are going cloud, they have the inadvertent need to connect online... ALWAYS!

Office on iphone atleast works seamless including Skype. With the editing and save on phone features I think its perfect for work on move for quick edits or going thru files.

Which phone are you using? It could be RAM that is causing an issue.

Just imagine typing from word or browsing your emails in outlook only to hang/lag when the app is trying to connect to the internet or when you're suddenly having connectivity issues.
                We sure don't want that.

AnonD-442781, 01 Jun 2016The memory it takes up is so small its not even worth menti... moreTrue.
But, in my experience, it has happened ALOT of times where the application will suddenly be enabled and then eats memory for its runtime causing lag. Hence, an uninstall is required.
This has been an issue with Android before that's why alot of users are requesting for the bootloaders for such devices (so as to avoid voiding the warranty when rooting).
I hope Xiaomi will have the bootloaders enabled so we can uninstall it.

For the record, I'm not against Xiaomi's deal with MS... it's just that, we want the choice to remove the apps we don't really use or don't want at all.

For most of you 10 year olds in here, these companies make their money from software, not the hardware, you need to be able to make money off the hardware that you just sold to that consumer, same goes for the consoles, Sony and Microsoft makes their money from the games and the studios that have to pay royalties to Sony and Microsoft. Do you think this website would be able to operate without all those advertisements floating all over the screen. When your start your own business one day you will understand.

WP is irrelevant, it's DEAD, put a fork in it, Microsoft has, they know where their bread and butter is, it's software and services and software licensing, for the people who have not been paying attention, Microsoft has been selling everything off in regards to their failed experiment called WP, with less than 1% market share, the writing is on the wall.

Not wanting either of them. Make sure they are "uninstallable" as well or you'll lose custom. End-users will decide what they want on their gear, not force fed crap they don't want!
