I know, I wondered why camera makers don't slap some DDR on digi cams to make those work faster. Sony did that with RX4, took them 10 years to figure out this basic thing - they just glued some DDR on the bottom of CMOS sensor, done.
Now I wonder why phone makers don't use SSDs in phones and instead use uber-slow memory. Surely its not because battery would drain 0.1% faster! I'd sacrifice 3% of my battery life for a 50% faster boot! That'd actually SAVE battery by making the boot time faster and memory usage lower overall.
I guess Samsung didn't catch up to basic ideas yet.
All I'm saying is: when trying to perfect a technology, you may get lost in specifics. Take a deep breath, walk 3 steps backward and take a look at the general picture. SSDs in phones are a good idea, not a bad one. Surely it needs some tweaking here and there, but overall its a win-win for both memory makers and customers. And Samsung is both a phone maker and a memory maker!

Samsung is making HDD obsolete. Now laptops and even tablets can have SSD in the TBs. No other company can say that. Kudos Sammy.

Thats why more of the ... moreWell, considering its 402MB/s reads and 163MB/s writes, i say its plenty impressive, much higher than UFS 2.0 as of now, with the one with it having "only" 233MB/s reads and around 50MB/s writes, considering the S6 had around 40MB/s writes and 209MB/s reads...

Apple's dream came true. One thing that was user upgradable left. Soon MB series will have a fixed storage option too. Either settle for less hardware or spend more money on high-end.
