The normal display is over saturated but you can change it to basic mode. Wait, I've said this before. Its like speaking to a wall.

And now you're saying that keeping your display always on throughout the entire day, at 100% brightness (even when the last 10-20% take a hell of a lot more battery, for LCD too before you say something), are normal usage? I'm done. There's no point in speaking with you because you're obviously trolling.

Display units are different, since the display is on 100% of the time at 100% brightness. Standard usage doesn't result in burn in.

Anonymous, 04 Jun 2016You are wrong at some places. Sunlight legibility of Super ... moreSunlight legibility in Super LCD keeps on improving aside from viewing angles and power consumption as each version coming out. Like the Super LCD5 in HTC10, it had gone far from Super LCD.

But to say that it has better sunlight legibility than SAMOLED, is far from true. While LCDs are efficient in using white colors, its innate weaknesses are legibility outdoors and viewing angles which are in contrast SAMOLED's winning traits(aside from 'null' blacks).

A burn-in is an OLED/AMOLED/SAMOLED phenomenon and is rare in occurence. Either your friend is unlucky or cursed.

Anonymous, 04 Jun 2016You are wrong at some places. Sunlight legibility of Super ... moreLol. You do realise this site has a sunlight legibility test right? Nothing comes anywhere close to Samoled. Just look at the xperia x review and click on expand to see all the phones. Look at how low LCD phones like HTC 10 or xperia x are and look at how the top is pretty much all Samsung and other phones with Samsung displays.

There may be rare cases of burn in but I don't think its anywhere near significant. It might be limited to people who keep their phone on 100% brightness all the time or something.

G6 user, 04 Jun 2016don't make me laugh accurate ... I don't know what do u me... moreI could agree with you but only as far as the yellow issue part.

The 'saturated' green on Samsung's grayscale came from the green subpixel of its pentile form that tends to oblongate, hence the dominance of the green scale. This is due to high pixel density(qHD) on a ~5" display. Technically, the green is dominant, but doesn't go as far as saturated (like what you claimed it to be).

Since the yellow scale is a neighbor to the green in spectrum, yes it gives a hint of yellow from white renders. I agree, but to an extent.

'Oversaturated', 'punchy colors' and 'cartoon like' are things of the past. They were the things of the ancient OLEDs, not SAMOLEDs.

The LG G3, a successor to G2, could only trade blows with the s6 in grayscale accuracy. But in white, GMB and (especially) saturation accuracy the Galaxy s6 made LG G3 look like crap. Talk about accuracy.

Maybe you are either a victim of the past notions which somehow affected your visual judgement(if you really tried) or a biased-by-default who just watched some youtube comparos.

Have you ever tried to plug a smartphone and run Macbeth to test your claims? That's what I thought.

If someone, for example managed to produce one, the assumption is that it still has a lot of catching up with let's say Samsung's display technology.

An IGZO is a transistor type of technology, not a panel one like LCDs & AMOLEDS. IGZO is then used in TFT backplane. That backplane controls the display panel (any type of panel like OLEDs, TNs or IPS)
