I noticed that a few days ago when I tried reading a new message on the website.
I normally use Facebook at least once per day. I really don't like The Facebook app or its messenger.
Some times I install Facebook's main app because I need to upload some videos then I just delete it.
By now I'm still using Facebook because they still have Facebook Lite app and I can continue reading messages as business as usual., but I'm really mad with this decision the took, they shouldn't force us using a stupid app that makes run my device slow, take so much memory space and drains the battery quickly.
If on Facebook Lite app force us to use this messenger app that will be the last day using Facebook.

Me too! Since 2 years of using messenger, I deleted and reinstalling it like a hundred times a total now. There is a time that, only the messenger app are only installed without fb main app installed on my phone. I only use it if I have a group chat. Now I only use opera mini to use facebook. The fb main app itself is a pain to use already like what some reader said here... What's up for another painful app? Messanger is okey! but facebook must not forcing us just to use it. I give the messeger app. 5 star, only if they don't force us to use it. I give them 1 star as of now for their stupid decition!

Fb messenger is by far the worst messenger I have ever used! I installed it for like 10-15 times but I always end up deleting it! (I do it at times when someone messages me on fb and the chat is long) and Neither do I use the FB app because Facebook team is the worst in creating apps!
whether it's their FB app or messenger, both takes up humongous amount of memory and slows down your device like anything! and are definitely battery hog! what's the point of using them through apps? it will end up making you more addicted to it by constant notifications! Going with the option of Mobile Web version seems to be the most suitable option to me!

There are many apps like Nimbuzz, Viber and Telegram which support PC (from Win XP) and mobile phone platforms also.
Fb takes up more installation space and also slowly eats up the remaining space in the name of cache.

I uninstalled Facebook, Messenger and WhatsApp and it was the most liberating feeling once I overcame the addiction. Goodbye FSA (Facebook Spy Apps; an allusion to NSA for those of you who don't get it). You will enjoy battery life like your phone was new again.

internet junkie here, i use a lot of social media sites/apps whatever it is, this move by FB is just I don't know, i think they are sensing that what Mark said before is becoming a reality, that FB might go downhill like FS back when FB was not yet out, that's why they are making Messenger a separate app/site from FB, well goodluck on this move, the only thing i like about this is my contacts in FB will still be there in Messenger, so it's not that hassle in adding the people i want to keep in touch with, other preferable chat apps are, Line, Viber, Skype, Snapchat, WhatsApp and WeChat, Twitter and Instagram are also better compared to FB nowadays IMO

Well...simple to me. If they make it happen, then I'll stop messaging from mobile web. And if they completely remove messaging from fb website in favour of messenger, I'll just simply close my account. People never respond well to be forced to do something they don't want. Only proves that CEO's making those decisions are as confused as a child walking into the strip joint.
