okay, so i own huawei mate 8, i noticed huuuuuge battery drainer apps on my device, and kept testing and i found them YES, facebook and messenger, keep starting themselves up, despite the efforts of my device on trying to keep them closed to save battery, so what did i do? i uninstalled both of them and moved to facebook web on my phone, now you're telling me i can't chat using that? well bye bye facebook, and thanks for getting shittier and shittier everyday, i am always outside and no chargers around so yes i appreciate my battery life

Wow, at first it was free service and then they introduced app.. Accessed contacts and text messages and now they want you to use only the app.

We already have this on windows 10, same thing like in the web version. Only difference is no chat heads like in the mobile version.

I have never seen any other app updates that frequently other than Facebook and/ or messenger. And the description is always generic like stability improvement and bug fixes. I wonder how shameless are they to push updates almost everyday without mentioning specifically what is it for.

Facebook is losing users as most have moved to Snapchat or Instagram. There are trying everything possible to get some of them back. Plus it will help with spying too.
Believe it or not this is the beginning of the end of Facebook as we know it.

There's Messenger.com also there is a Messenger app for Windows 10, but forcing Desktop users to use those 2, would be the stupidest thing ever.

Wasn't this transition done a while ago? I couldn't use the app for chatting for a period of over a year now, maybe even two! Maybe the authors of this article meant to say the mobile browser, not the app.
