And why tablets (or phones for that matters) must have a top end chipset? To show off? That's a lame reason to buy a phone/tablet. Just buy the device you need, not the device you crave. And you're not running out of options out there. So, stop hating an use common sense. ;)

blergh generic 4/3 aspect ratio trash, there's already the (jailbreakable) ipad air 2 which is going to be like only 100 bucks more and does essentially everything you want to do on a tablet + only having one button instead of capacitive crap though on screen nav on a tablet is pretty idiotic. I see no reason to 1. buy this 2. buy this over the tab s2 and 3. buy this over the ipad air 2
just release the 4.7" 720p s7 mini WITHOUT the sd820 so it doesn't overheat already

Downgrade.... Tab S was premium , S2 had average looks and build quality, S3 will have zero upgrade and slower processor. Worth for 199 dollar or call it Tab A.

And there is a market, it just happens that tablets get replaced less frequently than phones. In absolute volumes tablets sell more than laptops (according to IDC), so that's the opposite of not having a market.
Of course if they continue releasing mid range tabs then indeed they give even less reason for people to replace their old tablets.

It's pretty telling that their tablets get worse by the day. Note tablets were their peak (most features, top end specs for the era) and since then they started sliding. First Tab S (still top end specs, but less features) , then Tab S2 (worse screen, worse battery) and now we get Tab S3 (mid range specs).
Congrats Samsung, you are the only company that your devices evolve backwards...
