akash from nepal, 11 Aug 2010lol andriod at 200euro what a crap this one is better with ... moreI never said that Android was trying to make cheap phones. My point was that ever since the 5800 came out in 2008, Nokia has reproduce pretty much the exact same phone over and over. Not much has changed since then; not for their high end phone and not for their cheap phones. I am all for Nokia making cheap smartphones for developing countries, but the least they could do is make them different. Every Symbian phone from Nokia has almost identical spec sheets and I and many other customers have complained till we turned blue in the face about the OS running out of RAM...what does Nokia do...release more phone with the same software and the same RAM. it wouldn't drive price much higher to add RAM or storage space. Or better yet change the basic layout of the phone, use a different screen, CHANGE SOMETHING beside the skin or the colors.

it specs looks similar to Nokia 5233.
i think this phone is made to compete with low-cost touchscreen phones from Samsung, LG, and other Chinese phone manufacturers

And I bet it has a 434Mhz processor and 128mb of RAM...this is the same phone that Nokia has been releasing for almost two years...Nokia is really in a sad state right now. They are loosing the battle bad...it's cool to release cheap phones but not the same wolf in different clothing. Ever since the 5800 came out in 2008 every phone has had very very similar specs. That is NO evolution at all. Their engineers are doing nothing...I was with Nokia for a while but I am gone now, I have jumped on the Android bandwagon, and I really like the music.

Nokia should understand that you can build cheap phones and still make them different, It doesn't cost much more to add RAM to a phone...and really what since does it make that your "flagships" and your cheap phones run the same internal hardware...I mean really Nokia!?!? Wake up, this is not a game, you will end up being bought out by someone like HTC if you don't wake up and start performing soon. The N8 is not going to be enough, it should have come out at the end of last year, now it is coming out at the end of this year and it is already far behind the 8 ball, and that ball is still moving forward. That is all...

Anonymous, 11 Aug 2010pls be 3.2" display Its already there in 5233 and price of it is just around 105 euro. Please, let the 5250 have smaller display and so the price tag for wider audience. None of the feature phone at price below 100 euro have 3.2'' screen and 360*640 resolution. I don't think anyone will able to price 3.2" phone with WiFi/3G like features below 100 euro.

For the average person where i'm from, symbian is the definition of smartphone os. We don't use wifi, neither do we gps. Only 3g would be missed.

If its cheap enough, there is a market.

Sure I would like to see a cheap touchscreen device, in the size of the 5530, but with 3G. Wifi and GPS is not really needed.
But this i clearly not that device, however this does not mean no such device will be made.

Some coutries pretty much lacks 3G, so why would they put that in a device made to be as cheap as possible.
GPS, sure good with OVI maps, but honestly, not everyone needs that feature, why should they pay for it.
Wifi, what is the point? Sure there are some hot-spots, but not that many free. So on the go, Wifi is not really well used.
Well the camera could be better, but probably the cost for including the camera module in this one is pennies, so why wouldnt they? in developing countries, 2 megapixel no auto-focus, no led is better than what they have (no camera at all).

                                    Some of you want wifi.
Some of you a good camera.
                                    Some of you GPS.

This is nokia we are talking, there will probably bee a model for everyone.
If they put it all in there, it will cost more.

I don't think its actually needed in this cheap phone at such a low price tag (it SHOULD be less than 100 euro if leaked features are correct and considering the pricing of 5230/33/28).

It is good to have cheaper (i mean cheapest) smartphones in portfolio. It makes sense considering price. And I believe this is less than 100 euro because 5233/5228 with larger screen is priced at just 110 euro. This phone will kick a$$ out of cheap Samsung and LG featurephones.
