Forget about Z. Get the Z Force all the way then choose either of the 2 batt pack mods and slap that on. DOUBLE the batt life satisfaction on Z Force's already ample 3500mAh.

The Moto Z duo beats the iPhone 7 (and many other handsets) in the race to kill the headphone jack. Is there any smartphone flagship out there without the 3.5mm audio port?

OnePlus take notes, this is what you should've done with the OP3. It's too bad the better version of Moto Z is exclusive to Verizon.

Ya. Almost anyone will opt for the Z Force just for the battery. But, if the price of the regular Z is, let's say $200 cheaper, then it may appeal to some.
