and don't show me manual update, where is the official update from setting>about>system upadate>check update and you have update of M 350 mb or 400mb.

I'm beginning to believe what many have said: ASUS will never release an official Android 6 update because they know that the do-it-yourself update is crap. Why won't they support existing customers?

Great news guys. My HTC 10 will be getting Android N while you guys are downgrading to Android L. I owned an Asus Zenfone 2 deluxe and I have to say I really wanted the zenfone3 deluxe but, when a phone that's made in Taiwan isn't stocked upon initial release that tells me the company has issues delivering on promises. The Asus Zenfone 3 was released in August and not one store in Taiwan carries the 256GB Snapdragon 821 version. It's all good though my HTC 10 does the job the Asus Zenfone 2 deluxe couldn't.

Y is Asus announcing that the have released M for ZE551/0 when it's only for manual upgrade? There is no FOTA release yet at least that I have seen. The idiots probably still have it in beta testing and that's Y they won't let it out for automatic FOTA. If something goes wrong with your manual update probably they will say "well it's not offical FOTA yet and you did that on your own risk"

I'm quite suprised by how many idiots there are in here who don't even know how to manually update their phones to marshmallow and are still crying foul coz they'e still unable to apply a simple update to their zenfone 2.😆😆😆

ASUS is generally a competent... moreAsus is a very good company.The problem with zenfone 2 is that it has an Intel atom processor.Intel stopped support for its mobile processors on December 2015.So Asus had to develop an almost stable android M for Zenfone 2.That is why the android M update was late.

I got my notification of an available update this evening and it is now upgrading. I expect it will take at least half an hour. It is great to get a pleasant surprize like this!

Manually update your Asus Zenfone 2:
1. MOVE ALL YOUR APPLICATION INTO THE INTERNAL STORAGE FIRST
2. Search for your Asus Zenfone 2 firmware under asus.com
3. Download the firmware onto your laptop/pc
4. Make sure that you are downloading the correct firmware (ZE551ML, ZE550ML)
5. Connect your phone to your laptop/pc
6. Copy the file into *internal storage NOT microSD* (do not change the name or add the file into another folder, and DO NOT unzip the file)
7. After copying into the internal storage, safely disconnect phone from laptop/pc
8. Restart your phone
9. Your phone should show that a system update is available, click on it and wait....
10. The installation should take about 10min (my whole process took 45min)
11. And you're done

ASUS is generally a competent company, but in this case it's clear that they screwed the pooch by severely underestimating what it takes to support a flagship phone. Now they're claiming that Android 6 is ready, but the OTA update is nowhere to be seen. They previously committed to an update by the end of Q2 2016, and then completely ignored any responsibility to meet the goal or respond to customers about the failure. I wouldn't be surprised if we're still waiting for the Android 6 OTA update even into 2017. Anyways, I bought this phone with high hopes, but ASUS's rank ineptitude with supporting existing customers has really soured me on any future ASUS products. ASUS really has a lot of work to do to prove itself and show that it cares about it's cellphone customers, because based on this experience with the ZE551ML, it seems that we are just the guinea pigs for them to work out bugs so that they can sell the Zenfone 3 to the next batch of suckers.
