Nokia N9 poses for new shots, looks like a mini MacBook

19 August, 2010
It seems the Nokia N9 teaser video that leaked back in June might turn out to be the real deal. Today's detailed pictures show the same QWERTY slider we saw before, supposedly running MeeGo OS...

I wonder if this is their next generation to the venerable Communicator range. It certainly is the only thing within sight which could replace most of the features of the E90. So hopeful, cause the E90 is nowhere to be replaced by anything else....

[deleted post]WOW thanks to those for backing me up. All I'm trying to do is help out. I can't believe the animosity of some people here. They sound like immature children.

Noooo people are against me. lol WOW you have an amazing imagination in your spare time. Please come back down to Planet Earth, realize you are a human being, first start by treating everyone with respect then you will get some back. Secondly please care to grow up, come out of your childish shell rather than leave childish remarks.

Please do some research & apologize to me. I'll accept your apologies. You just can't make stupid lies, claims or antagonize people like that. If you were in person acting like that you would get a big nose because some people won't put up with people like you.

In fact please go away from here & annoy someone else if you won't play by the rules & help people out, give useful advice, facts, or learn some things & learn some common sense. I hope your comments are deleted because you haven't played by the rules. LOL

Unlike *cough* "Apple", Nokia make their products to go through proper QOS Qualiy Testing routines & FCC standards & also think through their atennagate problems aswell. *cough*

At least my Nokia 5800 can be dropped 5 times in it's life time before it's life is up. Unfortunatly the Iphone is not very robust deciding to dies from a shattered face after at least 3 drops. lol

Like TFT IPS panels which have good blacks/whites so good greyscale. They have good colour, good viewing angles, good response time giving good motion, but the let down is it uses much battery life. S-LCD is supposed to carry 5 times better power management from earlier LCD panels, good black/whites, enhanced wider viewing angles from from sony's vspec tech. S-LCD brings good colours then with good reponse time aswell. It's a really good alternative then compared to SAMLED considering it's power management. So I don't think Nokia fans would be dissapointed to see S-LCD not in a Nokia phone. I think it's a great technology. It should also be very good in bright sunight aswell (as far as I know?)

@Niraj. I really don't know. HTC are deciding to use new S-LCD so maybe nokia might. A lot of IT jounalists are I suppose spreading rumours that the N9 has SAMOLED. Since S-LCD is a very good technology, so is the TFT IPS panels used in the Iphone. IPS is excellent for motion, for deep blacks & fast refresh response times. I like loads of other people can't answer what Nokia's connections or decisions will be be as which display technology they will likely implement. But Dr. Woo-Young So, Research Scientist at Universal Display presented the AMOLED architecture. Then in collaboration with Professor Jin Jang of Kyung Hee University and Samsung Mobile Display they created the AMOLED display which Nokia have used for their N8. So I don't know who owns the patent for AMOLED, but I would'nt think impossible. Although it's costly & is more difficult for companies to get hold of. S-LCD is supposed to have all the right advantages of TFT IPS, advantages of SAMOLED, along with being cheaper & supposedly more cost effective. S-LCD is a joint venture between Samsung & Sony still. So Nokia & HTC still have these to behemoth companies to ask for their technology.
