Btw do you really think Samsung will allow Nokia to use Super Amoled on N9 since Nokia is their main rival and this decision will surely effect their business model. IMO SuperLCD seems more better option for Nokia..

[deleted post]Actually the only person that makes himself look like a frickin fruit cake is he that posted it sadly. Since he's nothing better to do but write offending material to others who try to help out on this forum. Now who feels BAD.. Some people have no emotion & have loads of anger but it won't get them anywhere at all, I have had to deal with culprits like this before who think they know better. If he does indeed know better then would he care to challenge my information in your own words without any copy & paste please. LOL I guesse I am going too far but some people just deserve to be told when they offen with bashing offensive comments like tha, as though they think they can walk all over you. This is a forum & everyone has humane rights to post advice, useful information. It is not used to fire weapons at someone for a silly stupid, immature way.

If N9 brings Super Active-Matrix Organic Light Emitting diodes integrated on a thin film transistor array. It should help the N9 consume 20% less battery power like samsungs phones. AMOLED displays may be difficult to view in direct sunlight.
Samsung's Super AMOLED technology addresses this issue by reducing, there is debate to whether AMOLED really does offer improved viewability in direct sunlight, their is also the same same view that their is minimal difference in some peoples opinions that SAMOLED also doesn't offer much of improvement either.
However it is widely accepted that AMOLED & SAMOLED over passive matrix OLEDS, & TFT backlighty offers a better viewing in bright sunlight in general. The size of gaps between layers of the screen. SO the N9 mayspite the rumours have be the phone for you if you want a new Nokia with a screen which has a legimately seeable viewing experiene in direct sunlight.
How much more is viewable is determined by the perceived viewing light of the user/owner within a sunny lit environment.
So now the questions are on the rest of the device N9's main hardware components that will consume the most amount of power. The two main ones are CPU, GPU. As we already know that devices packing either AMOLED, SAMOLED, BT3.0 brings better power consumption to almost a very low nearly OFF power state when idle over BT2.0/2.1. BT4.0 by the SIG alliance uses the most minimal power consumption to mobiles & so is the most effective. Wifi b,g,N & 3.5G are the only other data connectivities to use some energy.
So then the SAMOLED, CPU, GPU, BT3.0 will probably help mostly contribute to Nokia N9 using the lowest amount of energy, & probably the greenest Nokia yet & might even be Nokias most effective Mobile. But don't forget take into consideration the power requirements of Meego a Full Operating System on a Mobile devie, which puts more of a burden of heavyier load & processing over the S^3 of the N8. So the OS could actually limit the power effectiveness of this phones lowe power hardware.
These are all factors to consider. It really is down to how Linux Meego handles power requirements of hardware because if the hardware is lower power but is tasked more & say their are more overheads more I/Os with this OS, this will degrade battery life regardless of how much power the components will use.
Also NAND flash uses extremely low amount of power, so memory, flash ND, RAM are to consider. But they aren't generally noted when talking about power requirements for longer lasting usage of your phone. I think still quite clearly that it would be nice to consider improving voltage, MAH for mobile phone batteries.
What does everybody else think?

Wont get my hopes up. I was soooo stoked for the release of n900, but even more disappointed when I realized that I was completely useless for me due to the extremely poor battery times. So this time I wont bother to get exited until it is actually released, innovative and useful. Seriously... a phone without battery is just a plastic brick.

Im impressed about the developments from the prototype to this. But I really hope they would use durable parts on it, as nokia keys tend to wear off pretty quick

Yep I agree ,, the iphone4 does look like the Nokia N810. I bet if this was black or pure white including the keyboard. Nobody would say it looks like a mac. I guess to some apple invented square keys an aluminum.

what nokia needs to do is launch the n8, n9, e72, c7 in US cel phone carriers, especially att, so people will know about them. if nokia does, the iphone will have a real competition.
I can't wait for the n8, n9 and c7. three choices to pick from.
